25 Days of Christmas Tags - Paper Smooches

Hello there! Today I am excited to be participating in the 25 Days of Christmas Tags!  This tradition was started by my friend Tracy McNeely.  Every day, for 25 days, a different stamp company is highlighted, and lots of awesome ideas for Christmas tags are shared!  Be sure to visit Tracy's blog so you don't miss a thing!

Today, we are highlighting Paper Smooches products!  You all know how much I love Paper Smooches! :)

I just got my most recent Paper Smooches order, and could not wait to play with the Snowman 2 die and the new  Lovely Snowflake die!  They are just adorable!  I diecut the snowman from white cardstock and colored all of his pieces with my copic markers and then pieces him back  together.  I diecut the largest Hexalong die, and used the Stitched dies to diecut a ground for my snowman to sit on.  I masked off the snow and added a subtle blue sky with distress ink.  I popped that up on a rectangular diecut, and then added the snowflake to the top right corner.  I scattering of sequins and some white gel accents finish things off.

That's all for me today,  but I will be back tomorrow with a few more projects to share!

Personalized Halloween Tags {Lawn Fawn}

Hi there!  Today I am on the Lawnscaping blog with a fun set of Halloween tags using a bunch of goodies from the new release!  I  have a bunch of kiddos in my life that get special halloween treats, and I like to dress them up with handmade tags.  Here are a few that I created using the new Booyah stamp set!  I just love these little ghosts!  Keep reading to see how I made them, and for close up photos of each.

Halloween Tags

I started off by diecutting the largest star in the Puffy Star Stackables die set out of halloween colors of cardstock.  Then, using the second largest star in the set, I diecut both a black star and a white star...

Halloween Tags

I put the black star face down on the Snowy Backdrops die to cut the pattern into the black star, and then I glued the white star directly behind it to show off those cute tiny stars and circles!  I stamped, colored and fussy cut several little ghosts and accessories from the Booyah stamp set, and then stamped colored and fussy cut the largest pumpkins from the Happy Harvest stamp set - 2 for each tag.

Halloween Tags

Then, using Owen's ABCs and a banner die from my stash, I personalized each tag using black ink.  I punched a tiny hole in each of the large colored stars and threaded some Spooky Lawn trimmings through and tied a bow.  Then, I adhered the black and white star to the larger one with foam tape, along with the ghosts, pumpkins and banners, all with you guessed it, foam tape.  The ghosts are on two layers of tape so that they stand out above everything else.  I added some white gel pen accents and wink of stella glitter pen, too.

That's all for me today... I hope you are inspired to create some halloween tags of your own!  Thanks for stopping by! :)

Papertey Ink Make it Monday #7 - Copics on Colored Cardstock

This week's Make it Monday Challenge is to add color to non-neutral cardstock. You can find out more information by clicking on the graphic above.

I love the way this looks. It is amazing how much more depth you can achieve just by coloring on color. I made a Mother's Day tag using a bunch of new goodies from PTI's March release.

I used the Tag Sale #1 Die cut from Hibiscus Burst CS, then I stamped the larger gingham pattern from the new Backgrounds Basics: Gingham stamp set in Raspberry Fizz Ink. Then I cut a Doily Details diecut from Kraft Cardstock and used the new Sending You Dies with a big of New Leaf CS, stamped with the smaller BB: Gingham pattern. Then, I cut 2 flowers out of Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores and Orange Zest Cardstock using the new Flower Fusion #2 die, and added some rhinestones colored with my copic markers. The sentiment is from the new Tag It #2 stamp set.

Supplies (all PTI unless noted):
Stamps: BB: Gingham, Flower Fusion #2, Tag-Its #2
Ink: Raspberry Fizz, New Leaf, Memento Rich Cocoa
Paper: Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores, Orange Zest, Kraft CS

My shot at being a PTI Stamp Designer...

The 2011 Stamp Design Team each designed a tag, which were all compiled into a free download. To participate in the contest, you have to make a card or project using the tags. I love these tags! They are some of my favorite of all of the PTI tag sets!! Here are my entries (please see my seperate blog posts to see close up pictures and supply lists for each card):

PTI December Blog Hop

So hard to believe that Christmas is over, and 2010 is coming to a close! Today marks the final PTI blog hop for this year as well! This month, our challenge was:

Holiday Leftovers

It's that time again for our annual holiday leftovers challenge! Use scraps of wrapping paper, parts of
holiday cards, recycle gift tags or bits of ribbon on a paper crafting project. We all have plenty of it
laying around after all the holiday excitement and this is your chance to incorporate some of those pretty
little things into an amazing piece of art!

I used a cute little penguin Christmas card to make a gift tag! He was too cute to throw in the trash! I also used my new PTI Seeing Stars dies to make a 3D star. I am addicted. They are so cute, and SO easy.

Edit: Since so many asked how to make the star 3D, I will share with you how I did it. It is really simple. You just take your star cut out (any size will work), and simply score the star by making a vertical score line from each point of the star straigh down until you can't go any further. Make sure that each score line intersects the others in the center of the star. Then crease the score lines and that will give you the 3D effect. I hope I explained it clearly. It sounds more complicated than it is. Let me know if you have any other questions :)

Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Pure Poppy
Paper: Kraft, Pure Poppy, Stampers Select White, Distressed Dots, misc. blue dot
Other: Tag Sale #1 die, Seeing Stars small star die, Pure Poppy Bakers Twine, Christmas card front
