Moments Inked: Incorporating Your Favorites

Hello there!  Happy Monday to you!!  Today I have a new Moments Inked post to share with you!  If you are not familiar with Moments Inked, it is an awesome new planner system by Papertrey Ink.  You can see all of the Moments Inked products here.

I have been a Papertrey fan for a long while, and there are so many products that I love... images that just make me happy when I see them.... Color combinations that I can't get enough of....  While PTI offers a great range of Moments Inked products made specifically with your planner in mind, I wanted to incorporate some of my other favorites into the pages of my planner.  I first started by digging through my stash and pulling out some of my favorite stamps and dies.  I put them in a pile on my desk and then decided on a color scheme for my weekly spread.  I have a thing for pink and orange lately, and that worked out so well given the April color scheme in the planner.

Let's get started, shall we?
Here is the full spread... I will go through each element piece by piece as well.

Moments Inked Spread

If you have been a blog follower of mine for a bit now, you will know that I just adore the Doodlie Do stamp set.  Serious love.  Can't put it down.  I could color those flowers for hours!  I thought it would be cute to make some flower page markers, so I stamped, colored and cut out 2 of the largest flower from the Doodlie Do stamp set.  Then I used some glossy accents to adhere a paper clip to the back of one of the flowers, and then glued the second flower to the other side, sandwiching the paperclip the middle. It looks so cute peeking out the top of my planner, and  I am loving the new Moments Inked: Divided stamp set.  Those little dots are so fun!

Moments Inked & Doodlie Do

Another favorite of mine is the Watercolor Wonder stamp set.  I love the imperfectness of the stripes.  It makes stamping them very forgiving, but it gives a fun artsy feel which I really love.  I created a divider to mark my current week in my planner.  I used the new Moments Inked: Tabbed List die, Moments Inked: Listed stamp set, and Watercolor Wonder to stamp the pattern.  I came across this photo somewhere (I am so sorry that I can not remember where, but I will edit with credit if I can find it), and I am so drawn to the watercolor, and the text.  I think seeing this every day will be a great reminder for me.  I discovered that the  Fabulous Frames polaroid diecut is the perfect size to fit on the second smallest die from the Moments Inked: Basic Pages dies.  I adhered the photo the frame and then adhered the frame to the page.

Moments Inked & Fabulous Frames

When I first got stepped into the planner world, the perfectionist in me felt like everything had to be perfectly written and kept in the confines of the calendar boxes.  It is so much more fun if you let go a little bit and have fun with planning!  I love the monarch butterfly in the Butterfly Dreams stamp set.  So much so that I bought the entire stamp set just for that stamp, and I use it often.  I wanted to add that butterfly to my weekly spread, but copic markers bleed through the paper, so I diecut the butterfly from adhesive sheets, then stamped and colored it.  I added a flight trail from the Happy Trails stamp set as well (please forgive the fuzzy image... I had just reinked my stamp pad and it was extra juicy!)

I pulled out the Beautiful Beads Pink and Orange paper pad, and used the Moments Inked: Boxed dies to add some patterned paper to a few of my calendar boxes.  I find that the weight of this paper is just perfect for this.  It is  heavy enough to be opaque, but it doesn't add any bulk to your planner page.

Moments Inked & Butterfly Dreams

Finally, I've been wanting to keep a running list of crafty supplies that I would like to have, so while I had out all of my supplies, I made another tabbed list to use as a wishlist.  I used the wider stripe from Watercolor Wonder this time, and added a check box using the Moments Inked: Listed stamp set.

Moments Inked & Watercolor Wonder

I wanted to incorporate the paint brushes image from Friendship Jar Fillers, too, so I stamped that on the bottom right corner of the list.  This little list just makes me so happy :)

Moments Inked & Friendship Jar Fillers

I have hopes of adding more of my favorites to my planner in the coming weeks.  I hope this post has inspired you to do the same!  If you do, please share photos on Instagram so we can all be inspired by your creativity!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Happy planning! :)

Lawnscaping Challenge #102 - Distress Addicts

Hello there!  Happy Monday to you!  I'm super excited for two reasons today!  One is that today is the first day of spring break for us!  Hubby took the week off of work and the kiddos are home until next Tuesday.  I can't wait to have some fun with my boys!  The second reason I am excited is that it's time for another Lawnscaping Challenge and I am anxious to share a fun card with  you!  The theme of this challenge is Distress.  Add texture by distressing or use Distress products on your project... the sky is the limit!

This challenge is sponsored by the super fabulous Lawn Fawn!

I've been working through my pile of new stamps from the latest Lawn Fawn release, and today's card features the new set Stuck on You.  I was thrilled to see Lawn Fawn's take on the current succulent trend, but I will be 100% honest when I say that I normally steer clear of solid image stamps.  I am a girl that loves to color.  Coloring can add so much dimension and life to an image.  Sometimes I feel like you can't achieve that with solid images.  But, I couldn't stop thinking about these cacti, so I threw them into my cart as soon as they were available.  This card is a rarely for me.  Not only are they solid images, but it's also a one-layer, clean and simple card.  Can you believe it?!  I don't know what's gotten into me.  Anyway, since I can't make a card without my copics, I decided to add shading to these solid images with my markers, and I gotta say, I am pretty excited about the result.  I used markers a few shades darker than the ink colors I used, and then I used some distress inks to watercolor the ground under the pots and the area around them.  By the way, Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink may be my new favorite.  It's gorgeous!

There you have it... copic shaded cacti on a watercolor background. Clean and simple. :)

Howdy!

Sparkle and Shine Challenge #2 - Sketch

**This is my second post today!  If you are looking for my Papertrey Ink Moments Inked post, please scroll down or click here **

Hi there!  It's time for another Sparkle and Shine challenge!  We had a great turn out for our first challenge and we hope that you will continue to join in the fun!  This week's challenge is a sketch challenge!  You can see the sketch above.  This challenge is sponsored by the awesome folks at Winnie and Walter!

I've been on a watercoloring kick lately, so I used watercolors to divide my card front in half on an angle (I know it goes the opposite direction of the sketch, but it was too pretty to toss and start over, Haha!)  Then I ran my watercolored panel through my diecut machine with the largest frame from the Mama Elephant Peek a Frames diet set to give it some extra interest. I diecut Papertrey Ink's Tag Sale #7 from white cardstock and then stamped and colored the rainbow  and sentiment from the Paper Smooches Spectrum stamp set.  I stamped the clouds a second time and cut them out to pop up on foam tape.  I chose some rainbow polka dot paper from the Avery Elle Everyday Collection 6x6 paper pad for the top and bottom of the tag, then I added a button and some bakers twine to the top of the tag, and popped the tag up using some foam tape.  After I adhered the panel to the card base, I added a sprinkling of 4mm, 6mm and 8mm Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

More Moments Inked

Hello there!!  Today I'm back to share some new products being introduced to the Moments Inked product line by Papertrey Ink!  This month, you can expect to see new stamps and dies that allow you to create pockets, tabbed lists and dividers with ease!  There is also a new die collection that allows you to add patterned paper to your calendar blocks!  So fun!  Let's me show you!

When I posted my planner pictures last month, several people mentioned that my planner wasn't PINK enough.  I fixed that.  LOL!  Here is a photo of my calendar spread for this week.  The new Moments Ink: Boxed dies is a set of 4 dies that perfectly cuts squares that fit into your calendar blocks!  This week is spring break for the boys, and my husband took the week off from work, so I wanted to block out the week in my planner.  This is such a fun way to do it, and a great way to use up small paper scraps!!

PTI Moments Inked Memory Planner

I used the previously released Moments Inked: Blog Banners stamp set to note what days and times I have posts going live on my blog this week.  To note what bills need to be paid on payday, I used the Moments Inked: Planner Banners stamp set and the bullet list from the Moments Inked: Posted stamp set. I just love how those polka dotted calender blocks look and with the new Moments Inked: Boxed dies, it was SO easy!  With the boys being on vacation this week, we have a few places we'd like to go, but we are not really planning anything concrete, so I wanted the flexibility to be able to move things around my pages.  I wrote our activities out on cute chevron sticky notes that I found in the Target Dollar Spot, and stuck them to the side of my planner page.  That way, when we decide what we are doing each day, I can easily move the flags without tearing my pages.  You can see a tiny bit of a circle stamp from the new Moments Inked: Divided stamp set in the bottom right corner of the photo.  I have found that having my daily meals written on each day and helpful, and I love that little "meals" stamp!

PTI Moments Inked Memory Planner

On the right side of my weekly spread, you can see peeks at a few more new goodies!  I'll share more about my grocery list in a minute.  Friday is payday, and also grocery shopping day, which I have marked with another image from the Moments Inked: Divided stamp set.  The little heart in a circle and icecream cone are images from the Tag-Its stamp sets.  They are just the perfect size for the calendar blocks.

PTI Moments Inked Memory Planner

Now onto that grocery list that I mentioned.  The new Moments Inked: Tabbed List die and Moments Ink: Listed stamp set make it so easy to create custom lists!  The tabbed edge peeks out the top of your planner and there are stamps for every kind of list you could imagine.  A little tip for stamping the lined image onto your diecut... if you line the edge of each line up with the holes in the diecut, it will align perfectly.  I started stamping the lines next to the second hole in the die cut, and stamped the lined image twice, using Soft Stone ink.

PTI Moments Inked Memory Planner

Behind my grocery list, I created a pocket page using the new Moments Inked: Divided die set and the Moments Inked: Pocket Page dies.  I started by cutting a page using the large rectangle die in the Divided die set out of Raspberry Fizz card stock.  Then, using some polka dot paper from the Raspberry Fizz pattern pack, I cut the pocket, and adhered them together on three sides using 1/8" score-tape.  To flag my coupon pocket, I used the new Divided stamp set and coordinating die  and adhered that diecut along the top edge of my pocket page, being careful to stagger it with my grocery list tab.  To create the label on the front of my pocket, I stamped the large rectangle frame from the Take Note stamp set in black ink on white card stock.  Then I stamped the word "coupons" in black ink using the Outlines Alphabet stamp set and colored in the letters with copic markers.  It was looking a little plain, so  I stamped dots from Dot Spot randomly in Soft Stone ink, and then cut out the rectangle and adhered it to the front of the pocket.  I will move this pocket from month to month throughout the year.

And here you can see how the tabs and lists look when the planner is closed.  I can't wait to make a bunch more tabs in all different colors! :)

It's Lawn Fawn's Birthday!

Today, a few friends are celebrating Lawn Fawn's Birthday!  On this day, 5 years ago, Lawn Fawn opened it's doors and has quickly become on the of most popular stamp companies in the industry!  I can say, without a doubt, that they are one of my favorites!!  I am so excited to be part of this birthday celebration hop!  You should have come from Rachel's blog.  If you've gotten lost, you can start at the beginning here.

For my birthday card, I pulled out an old favorite, Year Three, and a brand new favorite, Baked With Love.  To start, I watercolored a piece of Tim Holtz Distress watercolor paper with a cheapie watercolor palette from Michaels, then diecut the piece with the Large Stitched Rectangles dies.  I stamped, color and fussy cut or die cut my pieces and laid them out on my card front.  Before adhering everything down, I curved my sentiment on an acrylic block and stamped the sentiment.  Then I glued everything down with glue pen or foam tape and added a scattering of 4mm and 6mm Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Happy 5th Birthday Lawn Fawn!

I am so blessed to work so closely with the wonderful team at Lawn Fawn.  Being on the Lawnscaping Challenge design team allows me to work with my favorite stamps very often and I am so thankful to be part of the Lawn Fawn family.  Wishing Kelly Marie and the gang many  more years of success!

The next stop on the hop is Samantha!

Lawnscaping Challenge #101 - Dots and Stripes

Hello there!  Happy Monday! It's time for another Lawnscaping Challenge!  Our theme is week is Dots and Stripes!

Challenge #101 is sponsored by our friend Ellen Hutson!

I've been trying to challenge myself to pull out stamps that haven't seen much love lately and use more of my stash.  For my card today, I used a few goodies that I haven't used in awhile...  Critters in the Dog Park and the Stitched Party Banners die set.

I Ruff You

I used the Let's Polka 6x6 paper pad for my polka dot and striped papers.  I backed the banner with white cardstock, leaving a tiny edge peeking out for some contrast against the striped paper.  The stitched circle was inked with 2 colors of distress inks, then I stamped, colored and cut out the dog, hydrant and tennis ball and adhered them with foam tape.  I threaded some Peppermint Lawn Trimmings through the banner holes and then popped the entire banner up on the card base with foam tape.

Be sure to visit the blog for lots more inspiration from the design team and all of the challenge details.  I hope you'll play along!
