Spread the Love Campaign {Clear and Simple Stamps}

I am here to spread some love! Clear and Simple Stamps is hosting a Spread the Love Blog Campaign.  You can read more about it here.

 Inspiration can come from anywhere and hit at any moment.  It may encourage you to try new things and stretch your creative boundaries.   Spread the Love is meant to give a virtual high-five to other bloggers who's work you admire.  I follow lots and lots of blogs - some papercrafting and some not.  One that I LOVE and visit often is Let Them Have Polish.  Apart from paper and stamps, my other loves are makeup and nailpolish.  I found Cristina's blog while searching for nailpolish swatches, and I was immediately drawn to so many things about LTHP - Cristina's beautiful nails, awesome photos, fun and creative nail ART.  Let's face it... a canvas can come in a variety of shapes and sizes from a giant portrait, to a card front, to a fingernail.  (Btw, did you know that you can stamp on your nails!  I have a kit and love it... you can see many examples on LTHP's blog).  I encourage you to visit Let Them Have Polish and see for yourself, but here are a few of my favorite posts from Cristina:

and finally, a Skittle Cling-Wrap Mani

I used the Bold Blooms color scheme for my card:

Using a mix of distress inks, I inked a panel for my card front.  Using nailpolish, yes NAILPOLISH, I splattered a silver and pale grey polish randomly over the rainbow panel.  It adds shimmer and dimension, which I love!  Using the Limited Edition Joy stamp set and die, I added the sentiment to the panel.  I am sort of bummed that despite my best efforts, I got a drip on my sentiment... but it's artistic right? *wink* For a little bit of extra bling, I added some of the Sterling Silver Metallic Cord.  The panel was then matted on Perfect Little Black Dress cardstock and popped up on foam dimensionals on an A Blank Check cardbase.

I hope you will join us for the Spread the Love Campaign!  There is a little contest going on and you could win a guest design spot for our next release!  Check out all the details here.

Oh Oscar! Group Post {Clear and Simple Stamps}

Hey there!  Happy Tuesday!  It's group post day over at Clear and Simple Stamps!  Today's challenge was to create a project based on one of this year's Oscar nominated films.  I was inpsired by The Avengers movie, a favorite around here *wink*.  Did you know that CSS has their very own set of Super Heroes?  Yep, the Ragdoll versions!

My card uses the the Ragdoll: Super Hero stamp set, along with Ragdoll: Jake Cool.  The front panel on the card uses the Notebook Edge die and the Imprint 3 impression plate.  I also used the insert portion of the Mini Tri-fold 2 to stamp my sentiment on.  The star clusters are from Cart Pals: Occasions.

It's Your Day {The Alley Way Stamps}

Hey there!  Today I have a card for you using two new sets from The Alley Way Stamps called All About YOU  and Tiny Treasures.  I stamped the postage stamp frame from Tiny Treasures randomly all over my card base to create a patterned paper.  Then I stamped a sentiment from the All About You on another postage stamp image that I cut out and popped up on foam squares.

I will be entering this in the Squigglefly Challenge #6 - Pink and Black.

That's all for now... thanks for stopping by! :)

Watercolored Berries {Papertrey Ink}

Today on the Papertrey Ink blog, the anniversary challenge is to create a project using some sort of watercolor technique.  I haven't tried this technique before, but I will definately being doing it again!  So much fun!!

I used the Strawberry Patch Stamp set.  I embossed it with clear embossing powder on water color paper then I dabbed my ink pads in each color I wanted to use on a piece of acetate.  Using a water brush and the ink, I filled in each space, going back and adding more color where I wanted more shadow.

The sentiment is from Beautiful Butterflies.  I know for next time to stamp the sentiment first and then emboss the image over it if there is overlap... you can see how my sentiment was resisted by the embossing because I did that last.

I can't wait to try this technique again!!

Supplies:
Stamps: PTI Strawberry Patch, Beautiful Butterflies
Ink: Versamark, Limeade Ice, Simply Chartreuse, Pure Poppy, Hawaiian Shores, Harvest Gold, Dark Chocolate, Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Pure Poppy, Hawaiian Shores, Watercolor Paper
Other: Double Ended Banner die, Pure Poppy Button, Twinery Twine, Popdots, Clear Embossing Powder

Mardi Gras Group Post {Clear and Simple Stamps}

Hey there!  It's group post today over Clear and Simple Stamps, and today we are showcasing projects from Collection 6!  All of our projects are in a Mardi Gras color scheme.

Little Miss Emma is all dressed up for a Mardi Gras celebration!  Ragdoll: Emma Happy needed a mask for her celebration, and the Taglines: Critters fox mask was just perfect!  For the background, I used Background Basics I and the fleur de lis image from Medallions 2.  The sentiment is a combination of 2 different stamps from the special edition Celebrate stamp set.

Be sure to visit these ladies for more Mardi Gras and Collection 6 inspiration:

Paper Smooches SPARKS Trend Watch - Polka Dots

**If you are looking for my post with CSS, please scroll down**

As soon as I saw the new Paper Smooches SPARKS trend challenge, I knew I wanted to play along!  Polka dots are a favorite of mine and I just got some new Paper Smooches goodies to play with so I inked them up for this challenge.  I used the new I Heart Art stamp set, and I definately *heart* it!  So fun to playwith!!

I used a paint chip sample card as part of my background, and because of the glossy finish, when I stamped on it with the paint splatter stamp, it left a pretty cool effect!

Hope you are enjoying your Saturday! :)

Collection 6 Party Hop! {Clear and Simple Stamps}

WOOHOO!  It's party time over at Clear and Simple Stamps!  Today is party hop day and the team will be using Collection 6 along with some of our other favorite sets to create party ensembles.

I hope you will join me for my monster party!!

You are Invited...

I used the new Tri-fold 2 die to create a fun mini invitation.  The grid pattern from the Airmail stamp set was stamped along the bottom edge and side flap of the diecut, and then I pulled out my cute little Taglines: Uglies!

I printed out the party details and then diecut using the inner card portion of the Tri-fold 2.

You can't have a party without food!

And you can't eat food without utensils!  To create this silverware box, I started with Favor Box 7.
 Here is what I did:
- Start off by cutting the favor box lid and tabs off.
-Then using a pencil and ruler, make light pencil lines the side scorelines on the front of the box.
- Measure 2.75" down from the top of the box and draw a horizontal line across the front of the box meeting both vertical pencil lines.
-Then cut along those pencil lines to remove the rectangular portion on the front side of the box.  Be sure NOT to cut off the box sides (unless you prefer this).  It will keep your contents from falling out sideways.
-Then add adhesive along the box sides and assemble. (It was alot easier than it sounds!)

And finally, a party favor to take home with you!  A "build your own monster" kit using containing a mini can of playdough and giant google eyes, using the Tags 1 die.

I hope you enjoyed my party ensemble!  Be sure to visit these ladies to see what kind of parties they are throwing to celebrating Collection 6!

Collection 6 Release in Review Day 4 {Clear and Simple Stamps}

It's Friday and it's Release in Review week with Clear and Simple Stamps!!  You can take a peek at all of Collection 6 in the store here.  Today, my project uses the new Tri-Fold 2 die, the Doily Stamp set, Medallions 1 and Medallions 2 from the new collection.

I used the small flower shaped medallion from Medallions 1 and the large flower shaped medallion from Medallions 2 to create a row of flowers.  The flower stems and leaves are pieces from the Taglines: Critters stamp set, along with the little bee and bee trail.  Then I diecut some clouds using the Clouds Combo and stamped them with the Doily stamp.  I used the Fence die, adhered with dimensional adhesive and a sentiment from Cart Pals: Occasions.

For the matching giftcard holder, I used the Tri-Fold 2 die and all of the stamp sets mentioned above.
