Papertrey Ink May Blog Hop!

Hi there!  It's time for another PTI Blog Hop, and this month, the theme is Aqua and Melon.  This color combination is so huge right now, though I must admit, it's not one that I gravitate towards.  For some reason, I had mint on the mind, not aqua, so my card has a bit more green in it.

I used the new Ballerina Beauty stamp and die set for my card, along with the Circle Scribbles stamp set and  Loop de Loop border die.

Red & Gold Doodlie Do {Papertrey Ink}

Hi there!
Today I have a card to share with you that I made for my aunt for Mother's Day.  I used the same layout as one one of my other Doodlie Do cards, just changed up the colors and a few other little things.  Have you ever found a stamp set, that no matter how many times you use it, still brings inspiration every time you pull it out?  In case you haven't guessed, Doodlie Do does that for me. *wink*  I am still so smitten with this stamp set.  Anyway, onto the card...  Haha!

Red and Gold Doodles

I used Background Basics: Tin Types for the lattice pattern, and some Pure Poppy bitty dot paper edged with the Pinked Edge border die.  The flowers were colored with copics, and it may be a bit hard to see in the picture, but I added some Wink of Stella clear glitter pen to them as well.

Hope you like!  Thanks for stopping by! :)

Supplies (all PTI unless noted):
Stamps: Doodlie Do, BB: Tin Types
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Pure Poppy, Tea Dye Duo
Paper: SS White, Scarlet Jewel, Pure Poppy Pattern Pack

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #165 - Artsy Backgrounds

Hi there!
Today, I have a card to share for the current PTI Make-It-Monday Challenge, Atrsy Watercolor Backgrounds.

I have been all about watercolor lately thanks to the online card class that I am taking, and I had so much fun with this card!  My new release order just came in the mail and I had to dig in right away!

I used Watercolor Wonder to create a striped background, then drug my waterbrush along the stripes to get the colors moving.  I stood my card panel on end to let it run a bit too.

PTI MIM - Artsy Backgrounds

In the top right corner I used the Circle Scribbles dies and it the largest scribble from black cardstock.  The butterfly is from the Butterfly Dreams stamp set and the sentiment and flight trail are from the Happy Trails set.  A sprinkle of black sequins and a black card base and done! :)

Supplies (all PTI unless noted):
Stamps: Watercolor Wonder, Butterfly Dreams, Happy Trails
Dies: Butterfly Dreams, Circle Scribbles
Paper: PTI True Black, Canson 140lb. watercolor paper
Ink: Pure Poppy, Raspberry Fizz, Orange Zest, Summer Sunrise, Limeade Ice, Hawaiian Shores, Memento Tuxedo Black
Other: Water Brush, Avery Elle sequins

That's all for now... thanks for stopping by! :)

Watercolor Backgrounds

Hi there!
I am participating in the online card class, Watercolor for Card Makers.  So far, I am LOVING it!  It really is stretching my creative boundaries.  I am still struggling a bit with the lack of control in watercoloring techniques, but the end result is usually beautiful!

I am a little behind with the class, so this card demonstrates background techniques learned on days 1 and 2.

The background was done using traditional watercolors and water, and I colored the Doodlie Do flower and leaves with copic markers.

I have lots more backgrounds done, and now I just need to finish cards with them.  Stay tuned! :)

Thanks for stopping by!!

For my card, I used the Flutter By stamp set and some of the Let's Polka papers.  I stamped the flower image repeatedly on my cardstock starting in the center and working on a diagonal.  Once I finished by stamping, I colored everything with Copic markers and accented with a white gel pen.  The sentiment is from the #awesome stamp set.  I popped up one of the flowers on the left side of the banner with foam tape.

Happy Birthday

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Be sure to check out the blog for more design team inspiration and all of the challenge details.  We hope you'll join us! :)
