I did a DOODLE!

I am super excited about a fun e-course that I just signed up for! Stephanie Ackerman of Homegrown Hospitality just launched her second e-course, Doodle Too. Well, I can't wait for that one, but wanted to take the intro class, Doodle 101 first. I signed up last night and got immediate access. We have had HORRIBLE weather here in Tampa today, and I have been doodling away! I still have a long way to go, but I wanted to share my first doodle with you...

So fun and relaxing! All you need is a pencil, white eraser, fine tip black markers (I used Sharpie pens) and colored markers (I used BIC Mark-Its). I have to work on my shading, but for the most part, I am pleased with my first doodle. That word, DOODLE, even makes me smile! :)

Papertrey Ink March Blog Hop!

It's time again for the montly blog hop at Papertrey Ink! This month, the challege:

Embroidery Floss
For the March Blog Hop we are challenging you to use embroidery floss in a fun and inventive way on your project. This could include stitching, wrapping it around and tying it like ribbon, braiding, accenting tags, embroidered patterns or anything else you can dream up! We look forward to seeing your creations!

I had so much fun with this card! I used DMC floss to match PTI colors (the pink matches Hibiscus Burst rather than Raspberry Fizz...)

A closeup of the stitching, which I did by tracing the outline of the die with a paper piercer and then threading the holes :)

And apparently, Malcolm was either trying to help or get me out of his way. I was taking my pictures just near his favorite window. I think he had enough of me invading his space ;)

Supplies (all PTI unless noted)
Stamps: BB: Gingham
Paper: Stampers Select White, Raspberry Fizz, New Leaf CS
Ink: Clearsnap Creamy Brown, Versamark
Dies: Friendly Flower, Sending You
Other: Hibiscus Burst button, Raspberry Fizz Satin Ribbon, DMC Floss in 702 (green), 3806 (pink), BLANC (white), Pop Dots

Teeny Tiny Stationary!

I have been busy playing with my Tiny Envelope die from Papertrey Ink's March release. Adorable little love.

I made some bitty little note cards using the Fillable Frames #5 die. It fits perfectly inside the envelope, which is 2"x3" when it is folded up. Before I folded the envelopes up, I stamped the insides with Background Basics: Gingham, and on the cards and front of the envelope, I stamped adorable little flowers from the new Flower Fusion #2 set.

I plan to package these in little glassine bags and tie with some pretty bakers twine.

Supplies (all PTI unless noted):
Stamps: Background Basics: Gingham, Flower Fusion #2, Fillable Frames Additions #1
Ink: Palette French Lilac, Plum Pudding, Clearsnap Creamy Brown
Paper: Stampers Select White
Dies: Tiny Envelope, Fillable Frames #5

Papertey Ink Make it Monday #7 - Copics on Colored Cardstock

This week's Make it Monday Challenge is to add color to non-neutral cardstock. You can find out more information by clicking on the graphic above.

I love the way this looks. It is amazing how much more depth you can achieve just by coloring on color. I made a Mother's Day tag using a bunch of new goodies from PTI's March release.

I used the Tag Sale #1 Die cut from Hibiscus Burst CS, then I stamped the larger gingham pattern from the new Backgrounds Basics: Gingham stamp set in Raspberry Fizz Ink. Then I cut a Doily Details diecut from Kraft Cardstock and used the new Sending You Dies with a big of New Leaf CS, stamped with the smaller BB: Gingham pattern. Then, I cut 2 flowers out of Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores and Orange Zest Cardstock using the new Flower Fusion #2 die, and added some rhinestones colored with my copic markers. The sentiment is from the new Tag It #2 stamp set.

Supplies (all PTI unless noted):
Stamps: BB: Gingham, Flower Fusion #2, Tag-Its #2
Ink: Raspberry Fizz, New Leaf, Memento Rich Cocoa
Paper: Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores, Orange Zest, Kraft CS
Dies: Tag Sale #1, Flower Fusion #2, Doily Details
Other: Copic Markers, Rhinestones, Pop Dots

It's already sping here in Florida! :) I started making my Easter/Mother's Day cards the other day, and made this little 4x4" square card using PTI Friendship Jar Spting Fillers . I am finding that I prefer to color smaller, less detailed images... this one was tough for me.

Have a great day! :)

Stamps: Friendship Jar, Friendship Jar Spring Fillers, Button Boutique
Paper: Rustic Cream CS
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Colorbox Creamy Brown, Hibiscus Burst
