Teacup full of violets

The other day, during my daily blog hopping, I was inspired by this post by Debbie Olson. While I love the new Lockhart stamp that Debbie used, it looks a bit like a few that I have in my collection. It wasn't as easy as stamping a single image and coloring, but I think it was worth the extra effort to get a similar look without having to buy any new stamps *wink*

First, I inked the edges of the coffee cup image from PTI Warm Happiness Too, careful NOT to ink the inside portion of the cup. Then I took the tiny little flower from Little Bitty Bird and stamped some flowers with the stem, and others carefully inked not to include the stem. I stamped them randomly inside the cup, then used my green copic markers to add some dots here and there to look like leaves. To add more interst, I used a Stardust pen amongst the leaves to fill in any little empty spots. Then I masked off the cup, and used the "cup shadow" from Warm Happiness, and stamped it under the cup. I am quite happy with the finished image :) I just love making discoveries like this!! :D

Supplies (all PTI unless noted):
Stamps: Warm Happiness, Warm Happiness Too, Little Bitty Bird
Ink: Dark Chocolate, Tea Dye Due, Lavender Moon
Paper: Lavender Moon CS, Stampers Select White CS, Happy Spots PP
Other: Lavender Moon Satin Ribbon, Mat Stack 1 die, Warm Happiness die, Chocolate Bakers Twine, Vintage Cream Button, paper doily, Copic Markers, Stardust pen

Awesome card, Audrey!! It's perfect! But just to be fair I don't think you give yourself enough credit for those "good ideas." You are always coming up with something incredible!

This is just awesome! I love how you thought outside the box and used those teeny flowers! Love the purple hues too!

Beautiful card Audrey! I love the softness and the way you used what you have to create the image you had in mind.

I always love seeing cards made with stamps someone already owns. Your card is a very good take on the card Debbie made. You did a great job masking the flowers. They look just like a stamp of a teacup with flowers in it!

Great idea! I may have to try this using one of the cups from Tea for Two. I wonder if the flowers from Asian Fusion would work.

Beautiful card, Audrey. My fave color is purple, but I really struggle using the color for some reason.
