New Stamps from Right at Home Shop!

Hello there!  I'm excited to be part of the stamp launch design team for the first stamp set from Right At Home!  This cute 3x4 stamp set is perfect for dressing up cards and envelops to announce that someone has happy mail!  You can check out the stamp set details here.

I created a flat notecard and matching envelope using the new stamp set.  I wanted to give the idea of confetti, so I took the flower center stamps and flipped them over, good side down, on my acrylic block.  By inking up the back side of the image, it left me with a fun wonky circle shape.  I used several different colors of ink, overlapping the "confetti".  When I was done. I added the Happy Mail sentiment to both the card and the envelope, and added a thin border with a copic multiliner.

Combining Stamp Sets {Lawn Fawn}

Hello there!  Today I am sharing a fun card on the Lawnscaping Challenge blog.  One of the things that I love most about Lawn Fawn Stamps are their versatility.  Because they are all a similar style, they can all be used together, which allows you to really stretch your stamps!

Did you ever have one of these as a kid?  I never did, but boy did I want one!

When I saw the Fintastic Friends and Sweet Smiles stamp sets, it was an idea that come to me immediately.  I wanted to create a Lawn Fawn gumball machine fish tank!  I started off stamping inking up the gumball machine from Sweet Smiles, but before I stamped it, I wipe the ink off of the gumballs in the image.  When I stamped, I was left with an empty gumball machine.  I stamped the waves from the Critters in the Sea stamp set, and the sand mound from the Life is Good stamp set, and then added some plants and rocks from the Fintastic Friends set.  I used copic markers to add little dots of color for rainbow gravel, and then stamped colored and  cut out the fish food container which I popped up on foam tape.  The goldfish is also popped up for added dimension.  I added a few details with a white gel pen, too.  For the area behind the fishtank, I used an ink blending tool and Tumbled Glass and Pumice Stone distress ink to add some color.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and I hope this inspires you to think out side the box with your stamps!  It 's so fun to see what you can create by combining images from different stamp sets!

That's all for now!  Thanks for stopping by! :)

Lawnscaping Challenge #110 - Rainbow

Hello there!  It's time for another Lawnscaping Challenge!  This time, it's a color inspiration, and rather than choose only a few colors, we want you to use them ALL!  It's a rainbow themed challenge!

Challenge #110 is sponsored by our friends at Lawn Fawn!

For my card, I pulled out my crayons!  Well, not really, but I used the adorable Color My World stamp set, which has a cute little crayon.  I started by watercoloring a piece of watercolor paper with my Artist Loft watercolor palette from Michaels.  When it was dry, I added a stitched edge with Small Stitched Rectangles Stackables dies.  I stamped, colored and fussy cut the crayon three times and added the sentiment from the set in black in to the center of the panel.  I used the tiny heart from Treat Yourself and some Lobster ink to add a few hearts to the watercolor panel.  Then I adhered the crayons with foam tape, and popped the whole panel up on a white card base using foam tape.

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge - Anything Goes!

Hey there!  Happy Sunday! It's time for another Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge!  This week, Anything Goes!

I made this card for my uncle who is recovering from knee replacement surgery.  I wanted to send a little sunshine to his mailbox.  I started off by watercoloring a background, and when it was dry, I stamped the gingham image from the Debonair stamp set along the bottom of the panel to give the little monsters from We Adore You something to stand on.  I dressed up the center monster as a nurse using the nurse's cap from Healthy Vibes.  The bandaid and sentiment are also from that same set.

Wplus9 Get Sketchy with Joni Challenge #2

Hello there!  Today I have a card to share for the July Get Sketchy with Joni challenge over on the WPlus9 blog!  Here is this month's sketch:

I totally love how Joni used watercolor on her card to add more interest to the diagonal split in the card sketch so I wanted to the the same thing.  I started off with an A2 size card base which I covered in Lawn Fawn Let's Polka patterned paper.  Then, using the Mama Elephant Sew Fancy dies, I diecut the cross stitched panel from Tim Holtz Watercolor cardstock.  Using my paper trimmer, I cut a strip on a diagonal from the center of that panel and then watercolored along each edge of the cut using my Peerless watercolors.  I stamped, and watercolored the blooms and leaves from the Doodle Buds stamp set, with my Stabilo 68 pens, and then diecut them when they were completely dry.  I adhered my watercolor pieces to the card base with foam tape and then adhered the flowers and leaves, some with a glue pen and some with foam tape.  Then I stamped a sentiment from the Love Mom stamp set.

Guest Designing for Right At Home - Take 2

Hello there!  I'm back again with another post as guest designer for the Right At Home Shop!  I created this card using the WPlus9 Happy Mail stamp set.

To create my card, I first started with a piece of watercolor paper which I watercolored in shades of pink, purple and dark blue.  Once it was dry, I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders to add a stitched edge to the watercolored panel. I stamped, colored and fussy cut the adorable little polar bear from the WPlus9 Happy Mail stamp set. I then used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside dies to diecut a bank for the little bear to sit on.  I adhered the watercolor piece to the card base, and then popped the hillside up with foam tape.  I positioned my bear where I wanted him, adhered him with foam tape, and then used copic markers to add a shadow under him.  I stamped a sentiment, also from the Happy Mail stamp set, using Verafine Black Onyx ink on the watercolor panel, and then diecut some tiny stars from silver shimmer cardstock using the  Mama Elephant Confetti die.  I adhered them down with a glue pen and then added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins for some added sparkle.

Sparkle and Shine Challenge #10

Hello there!  Time for another Sparkle and Shine Challenge!  This week, we have a sketch challenge based on this sketch:

Challenge #10 is sponsored by our friends at Winnie and Walter!

I think I've said it before, but I'll say it again... Sketch challenges really ARE a challenge for me.  I don't feel like I follow the rules very well LOL!  Let me explain my thought process for my card...  I just got the Chance of Rain stamp set from Mama Elephant, and knew I wanted to use it for this card.  I started by watercoloring a peice of watercolor paper with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers, and then I diecut it with a Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles die.  I stamped, colored the images with my copics and then fussy cut them out.  I added the three clouds to the top of the card to mimic the circular element in the sketch, and added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins to the left side of the card where the flags are supposed to be.  I totally make up my own rules when it comes to sketches.  LOL!  I do love this stamp set though, so you can count on seeing a lot more of it around here. *wink*

Paper Smooches SPARKS Picture Perfect Challenge

Hello there!  It's time for another Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge, and it's Picture Perfect week!  The inspiration photo is above!  I know that my card is a little brighter than the inspiration photo, but I chose to go with the bird theme rather than the color scheme *wink*

I started off my watercoloring my background using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.  When it was dry, I used the Stitched dies to give my birds something to stand on.  The adorable little pair of owls is from the We Adore You stamp set.  I stamped, colored and fussy cut those out, and popped them up with some foam tape.  The sentiment is from the same set.  I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sunshine Glow sequins ( I can't get enough of the new iridescent sequins!) and popped the panel up on my card base using foam tape.

We are so grateful

Guest Designing for Right At Home!

Hi there!  Today I have a fun announcement!  I have been asked by Nicole, owner of the Right at Home Shop, to guest design for the month of July as well as be a part of her new stamp launch later this month!  Nicole stocks all of the latest and greatest products from our favorite companies!  Be sure to visit the Right at Home Shop and see what's new (I know the new MFT was just added)!

Today, I am sharing this card on the RAH blog.  It features products from the newest WPlus9 release, including the Happy Mail stamp set and Doodle Flowers dies.  I started off by watercoloring a piece of watercolor paper with my Artist's Loft watercolor set from Michaels.  When it was dry, I diecut it using the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles dies.  I wanted a 3-dimensional sentiment, so I diecut the smile die from the Doodle Flowers dies out of black card stock, five times.  Using a glue pen, I glued them one on top of the other.  I stamped, colored and fussy cut the adorable little birds from the Happy Mail stamp set, and adhered them with a glue pen so that they look as though they are sitting on the sentiment.  The smaller sentiment underneath is also from the Happy Mail stamp set.  I stamped a few tiny hearts from the WPlus9 Little Bits stamp set, and added a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins, which you can also find the in the RAH store.  I matted my panel on black card stock, and inked opposite corners of my white card base with Cracked Pistachio Distress ink, before adhering it with foam tape.

Best Buds {Paper Smooches}

Hello there!  Today I have a quick card to share with you! As soon as I saw the new Best Buds, I knew I had to have it!  There are just some stamp sets that look so fun to color, and that's how I felt about this one!  I think it will be great for lots of coloring techniques!  For this card, I pulled out my Copics.  I wanted the flower jar image to take center stage, so I kept everything else pretty simple.  I added a yellow glow to the edges with several Copics, starting with the darkest Y08, to outline the image, followed by another outline of Y06, then Y02, and finally Y00.  I love the defused color.  When I was done coloring, I diecut the panel using the Avery Elle Wonky Stitches Rectangles dies, then I added a sentiment from the Pretty Momma stamp set, and a scattering of Sparkling Clear and Sunshine Glow iridescent sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Hey there!  Today I have a super special and super fun post for you!  I am THRILLED to be celebrating the Creative Chick's (aka Jenn Shurkus) 10th blogiversary!  Jenn has been sharing her talent with the world for TEN years.  An entire decade of awesomeness!  That totally deserves an awesome celebration, and Jenn has lots of fun planned.  She wants all of you to celebrate with her too!  Your challenge is to browse Jenn's blog for a project that inspires you, and then recreate it!  There are lots of amazing sponsors that are joining in the fun too... Check out this list!  You can read all about the blogiversary fun here!

It was so hard to choose which project I wanted to CASE, but I decided on this fun, bright, card that features some of my favorite things -- Mama Elephant, Distress Ink and Watercolor! You can read all about how Jenn created this card in this blog post.

I pulled out my Three Amigos stamp set, and my new Twisted Citron distress ink (OMG LOVE), and got to work.  I didn't have the same patterned paper, or any of that yummy ribbon, but I  used some Lawn Fawn papers and twine, and made sure to include some staples just as Jenn did on her card.  I don't think I've ever used a stapler on my cards, but I think I might do it more often.  Such a fun finishing touch!

Be sure to visit here for all of the challenge details, link up, etc!  You have until August 4th to recreate one of the Creative Chick's projects and add it to the inlinkz on Jenn's blog, and winners will be announced on August 7th!

Lawnscaping Challenge #109 - Sparkle and Shine!

Hey there!  Happy Monday!  It's time for another Lawnscaping Challenge!  This week, it's all about sparkle and shine!  Add some bling to your project! :)

We are sponsored by our friends at Ellen Hutson!

One of my favorite ways to add bling to a project is by using sequins!  I decided to make a shaker card using some gorgeous iridescent sequins from Pretty Pink Posh, and the new Lawn Fawn Party Animal stamp set and dies.  This stamp set is so super adorable!   I first cut a rectangle from the Stitched Rectangles dies and from that die, cut a circle to create the shaker window.  I filled the shaker window with a variety of sequins and sealed it up and then adhered it to rainbow striped card base.  I stamped, colored and diecut the little fox from the Party Animal stamp set, his little bird friends, and some party balloons and party hats.  They are adhered in front of the shaker window, some glued flush, and some popped up with foam tape.

Make a Wish Shaker

Here is a close up of the shaker and all of those beautiful sequins!  I could look at them all day!  I added some accents with a white gel pen and a Sakura Stardust pen.
