PTI January Blog Hop and MIM #198

Hi there!  Today I have a last minute entry for the Papertrey Ink January Blog Hop and the Make-it-Monday Challenge #198.

The Blog Hop challenge this month is hearts!

I love making Valentine's Day cards, and this particular one is for my almost two year old niece.

Be My Valentine

It was fun digging through my stash for all of my heart themed products!  I used some Simple Valentine patterned paper for this 3 panel card.  I think I will be making lots more of these cards!  So fun!!  I added a diecut hearts border along the top flap of the card and then diecut some Limitless Layers Hearts for the focal point of my card.  The cute little cat is from Cat's Meow... sooner or later I'll be able to stamp that cat on her diecut perfectly.  LOL! The sentiment is from Tremendous Treats Valentine, and the cute little clothespin is from the Dollar Spot at Target.

That's all for now!  Thanks for stopping by!!

I used the Simon Says Stamp Little Monsters stamps and dies for this card, along with PTI's Circle Scribbles stamp set.

Feline Valentines & Lunchbox Treats

Hello there!  Happy Valentine's Day!  It's my favorite holiday and I have been having lots of fun creating little surprises for my littlest boys! :)  I have two things to share with you today!

First, if you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, it is no secret that I am a HUGE animal lover.  My boys feel the same way!  When I was a child, I had a cat that had kittens in my closet when I was 3 years old.  One of those kittens, Buster, became my childhood best friend, move out with me when I got married and got to meet our first son.  Buster was 19 years old when he passed, and nearly all of my childhood memories include Buster.

We have 5 felines in our house, and 2 of the 5 have taken to the boys.  They each have "their cat" that sleeps with them, stays in their rooms when they are off to school, and patiently wait for their return at the window every afternoon, just like my Buster did with me.

Logan has claimed our  most recent addition, Leo.  Leo was a stray that showed up in our yard one day not even a month ago.  He was in pretty sad shape when I found him in the bushes in front of the house, but a quick trip to the vet to get some meds, and he's as good as new.  He's found a new home with us, and he and Logan have become fast friends.

A Logan and Leo selfie!

Joshua's feline BFF is Malcolm.  Malcolm has been part of our family for several years now.  He belonged to my Nana, and when she got sick and passed away, he became ours.  He and Joshua bonded immediately.  Where Joshua is, Malcolm is.

Joshua and Malcolm doing homework :)

Oddly enough, they are both orange and white.  When I saw these adorable candy boxes at Target with a giant orange cat on the front, I grabbed one for each of the boys from their feline valentines *wink*  I made little tags using PTI's Tremendous Treats Valentine and Lawn Fawn's Milo's ABCs.

While perusing the Valentine's aisle, I also came across giant chocolate chip cookies in cute tins.  I added little tags with a love note and will include these in the boys' lunches today.  I did something similar for Halloween and the boys still talk about it :)

I used The Alley Way Stamps Lighter than Air stamp set on a PTI Tag Sale 5 diecut.

I glued two diecuts together at the top and made a tiny card.  On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from the Lighter than Air stamp set.

I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day!
Thanks for stopping by for a visit!

Valentine Gift Card Sleeves {Mama Elephant Stamps}

Hi there!
I am behind on blogging my Valentine's projects... I figured I should get them posted sooner rather than later! ;)

For Valentine's Day in our house, the boys usually get a non-food treat, and a food treat (more on that tomorrow).  They got iPods for Christmas this year, and have been really enjoying them, so I thought it would be fun to give them iTunes gift cards so that they can add to their music or app collections.

I wanted a cute way to package them, and I have a small stash of little chevron bags from Whisker Graphics that have been sitting unloved.  They are the perfect size for gift cards!  I used my Mama Elephant Love From Above and Love Quotes stamps sets and my PTI Limitless Layers Hearts dies to add a little love to the front of each bag.

Mama Elephant January Photo Inspiration Challenge

Happy Heart Day

Hello there!  As soon as I saw the new Mama Elephant Photo Inspiration Challenge for January, I knew I wanted to make something with my new Love From Above set. I just can't get enough of these little angels.  Here is the inspiration photo:

And here is my card:

Happy Heart Day

It's hard to tell from this photo, but  you can see in the top photo, that the little angel has glittered wings, and she is perched on top of a pearlized cloud.  :)

Hope you are having a wonderful Saturday!  Thanks for stopping by!

You are Loved {Mama Elephant Stamps}

Hello there!
Now that the Christmas holiday has passed, I can  move on to creating for my favorite holiday, Valentine's Day!  I was so excited when I saw the peeks for Mama Elephant's new stamp set, Love from Above.  I knew it had to come live with me and I ordered it as soon as it hit their store!  I am so smitten with the little cherubs in this set!

It is hard to see the details in my card...  I used this sunburst imprint plate on the top half of the card, and the cherub' wings are glittered with my Wink of Stella pen (I can't seem to put it down!).  I have been doing lots of hand doodled borders lately, and I kind of love it. :)

Papertrey Ink January Blog Hop!

Time again for another PTI Blog Hop! Here is the challenge this month:

This month, in honor of the new year, we are challenging you to pick your
favorite project from 2011 and share it with al of us! To take it a step
further, you are also challenged to create a second card that is inspired by
the favorite project you select. Your new version of an old favorite could
carry over the color scheme, the layout or the stamp sets. We look forward
to seeing your best creations from 2011 as well as one of your first projects
for 2012!

A few weeks back, I did a 2011 Favorites Post here in my blog. For the blog hop, I choose to revisit a card that I had made for the PTI July 2011 Blog Hop. You can see my post here.

Here is the card I made then:

And here is a new card, inspired by the original. I used the Mehndi Medallion $5 set, Tiny Tags #1 and the Tiny Tags die, and the sentiment is from Tremendous Treats: Valentine. I just LOVE coloring these medallions.

Thanks for popping in for a visit! Oh, and if my friend Elizabeth stops by, HI ELIZABETH! XOXO :)

Wee Memories - The LAST Challenge

I am so sad to hear that the Wee Memories challenges are coming to an end. I have participated in quite a few and have enjoyed every one of them. I do understand that they must be alot of work, and I am excited that Jenny has many other things going on in her crafty world :)

This challenge was a sketch. Believe it or not, I have the hardest time with those. I decided to make my card horizontal and change things slightly to keep in line with the sketch. I used Papertrey Ink's Tremendous Treats: Valentine. All of these little critters are ADORABLE, and I LOVE adding Googly eyes to them. :) The sentiment is from its sister set, Tiny Treats: Valentine. The image is stamped on the Happy Day die and the patterned paper is from the Simple Valentine paper pad. The loopy edge is from a border in the Little Bitty Bird Stamp set. Since I don't have a scallop border die, I finished off my edge with the Pinking Shears die (one of my faves!)

Supplies:
Stamps: PTI Tremendous Treats: Valentine, Tiny Treats: Valentine, Little Litty Bird
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, PTI Raspberry Fizz, Tea Dye Duo
Paper: PTI Kraft, Stampers Select White, Raspberry Fizz, Simple Valentine Patterned Paper
Dies: PTI Happy Day Die, Pinking Shears Die
Other: Raspberry Fizz Satin Ribbon, Twinery Twine, Googley eyes, Copic Markers

Love Is in the Air

*sigh* Love is in the air. Valentine's Day is fast approaching, and it's time to get some crafting done in my favorite color - PINK! I absolutely LOVE this week's color combo over at the ColourQ blog - Challenge #119.

I was itching to use my new set from PTI, Tremendous Treats: Valentine. I love the tiny version, but I think this set is even better (if that is even possible!). I just adore these images. For this card, I used the airplane. The sentiment is from Tiny Treats: Valentine, the "fireworks" are PTI Dot Spot, and the Cloud dies are also from PTI.

I will also be linking this card to the new Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Spots or Stripes.

Supplies:
Stamps: PTI Tremendous Treats: Valentine, Tiny Treats: Valentine, Dot Spot
Ink: PTI Raspberry Fizz, Orange Zest, Sweet Blush, Palette Charcoal, Memento Tuxedo Black

Gnome-body Like You!

My favorite season is upon us... Valentine's Day season :) I am so lucky and blessed to be in love. Real, can't live without you, LOVE. My husband is my best friend. I made this card with him in mind. I am not sure that I will keep it until Velentine's Day though. I often leave little cards in his overnight bag when he leaves for work. I am sure this will end up there sooner than later ;)

I used Sweet Stamp Shop's Gnomies set. It is SUPER cute! The twine is from Paper Smooches. :)

Supplies:
Stamps: Sweet Stamp Shop Gnomies

Paper: PTI Stampers Select White

Tiny Treats for my tiny valentines...

Just wanted to share some tiny treats for my smallest valentines, my kiddos, Logan and Joshua.

Joshua's favorite color is blue, and he LOVES anything having to do with the ocean. His bedroom is bright blue, with lots of cool pictures of sharks (his favorite). I couldn't find any sharks, but I think he will be just as pleased with his whale :)

A Valentine's Tag

I bought an adorable miniature rose plant for my mom for Valentine's Day, and had to dress it up of course! :) I couldn't get a decent picture of the entire plant, but it has the most beautiful little fragile pink roses.

I made a pretty large tag, the size of the entire one side of the pot. Of course, it had to be pink to match ;)

Stamps: Tiny Treats Christmas, Love Lives Here, 2010 Love Tags
Ink: Scarlet Jewel, Dark Chocolate

A Valentine for my Sweetheart

This card is a valentine for my sweet, wonderful, husband. We met on Valentine's Day weekend in 2000, so this time of year holds extra special meaning for us. It is so hard to believe that I have spent almost ELEVEN Valentine's Days with him... and they just keep getting better.

Isn't he just the cutest?!?! Gosh, I love him.

He is not a frilly, foo-foo kinda guy (must be the Marine Corps training!). So, his card is short, sweet, and to the point. He is my sweetheart.

Supplies (all PTI unless noted):
Stamps: Tiny Treats Valentine, 2010 Love Tags

Vintage Valentine

In 2011, I have promised myself that I will step outside of my comfort zone, and try new styles while stamping. I love the look of vintage, or shabby chic cards, but have yet to master the look myself. I sort of had that in head as I created this card, and I think I think how it turned out (though I still have a LONG way to go as far as shabby chic goes!). If you are a member of the Papertrey Ink message boards, you many have read a time or two (*wink*), about how much I love their Friendship Jar series of stamps. Many of us are wishing and hoping for some Valentine's fillers, and I am sure they will be offered sooner or later, but I challenged myself to find something I could use within my current collection. I decided to try out the "be mine" image from the 2010 Love tags, and the "stick" fillers from the Fall Fillers set. I also used the postmark image from the 2010 Love Tags set to make the jar label. A little snippet of a paper doily, inked to show detail, and VOILA! :)

Stamps: Friendship Jar, Friendship Jar Fall Fillers, 2010 Love Tags
Ink: Dark Chocolate, Scarlet Jewel
Paper: Sweet Blush, Scarlet Jewel, Stampers Select White
