PTI Make-It-Monday #154 - One Layer Strawberries

Good Morning!  This week's Make-it-Monday over at Papertrey ink is all about one layer cards.  Nearly all of  my cards use layers or dimension some how, so this was really a challenge for me.  I have been wanting to pull out my Strawberry Patch stamp set since the design team revisited it the other day on the blog.

To make this card, I first cut a piece of A2 Rustic Cream cardstock, then masked off the center using a post-it note.  With the mask in place, I stamped some Scribbed Circles using Fine Linen and Ripe Avocado ink (I stamped off once, then stamped on the card front for a more muted color).  Then I removed the mask, and masked the reverse to cover the pattern that I created.  I stamped the strawberry image in the open area and then removed the mask.  After coloring, I added small dots here and there in the patterned area and then stamped the sentiment, allowing the tails of the sentiment to overlap onto the border.  I still felt that something was missing, so I took the little curly vine image and stamped it a few places part way onto the patterned border.  Finally, I added some Wink of Stella glitter pen to the flowers on the image.  The layering of several stamp sets really does add dimension!

Love you Berry Much

Watercolored Berries {Papertrey Ink}

Today on the Papertrey Ink blog, the anniversary challenge is to create a project using some sort of watercolor technique.  I haven't tried this technique before, but I will definately being doing it again!  So much fun!!

I used the Strawberry Patch Stamp set.  I embossed it with clear embossing powder on water color paper then I dabbed my ink pads in each color I wanted to use on a piece of acetate.  Using a water brush and the ink, I filled in each space, going back and adding more color where I wanted more shadow.

The sentiment is from Beautiful Butterflies.  I know for next time to stamp the sentiment first and then emboss the image over it if there is overlap... you can see how my sentiment was resisted by the embossing because I did that last.

I can't wait to try this technique again!!

Hello there! Happy Tuesday! Today, I am sharing a card that I created for the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge #75 - Roll the Die challenge. This was a FUN and challenging one for me. Thank you BERRY much!

Hello there!
Just a super quick post to share the goodies that I put together for the boys' teachers for the end of the school year. Summer break starts tomorrow! :) Inspired by something I saw on Pinterest, I ordered these cute ceramic berry baskets from Sur La Table, and filled them with Strawberry scented goodies from Bath and Body Works along with some cute strawberry shaped drink coasters. I jazzed up a little chalkboard garden stake with PTI's Strawberry Patch & Strawberry Patch Sentiments sets and coordinating dies, and sent along matching cards for each of the teachers.

I just took a super quick picture before the sun went down, as I was packing them up last night.

And here is a picture of the cards - showcased this one on my blog a few weeks back :)

That's all for now... off to get some things done on my last kid-free day until August! :)

Hello there! I am back today with a card that is a bit different from my normal style. Every now and again, I get inspired to make something more vintage looking, and Papertrey Ink's new Strawberry Patch stamp set and Sentiments fits perfectly with that look. Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved Strawberries (thank you Strawberry Shortcake! *wink*), and this set holds a ton of possibilities... I can't wait to play with it some more. Here is the card I made today:
