Countdown to Confetti - Day 3

Woo hoo!  It's day 3 of the Countdown to Confetti, and today the Reverse Confetti Crew is showcasing my favorite products from this release!  I know I say it every month, but I just ADORE the animals in the Reverse Confetti line... and every time I think I've picked a favorite, a new one comes out, and I have a new favorite.  They are just so fun and whimsical.  This month, koalas join the Reverse Confetti family in a stamp set called Bear Hugs.  Coordinating Bear Hugs Confetti Cuts will also be available.  All of the new products that we have been showcasing over the last few days will be available tomorrow, April 8th.  The wait is almost over! :)

I am just loving the gray and yellow color combination lately.  As I was coloring the cute little koala images, I knew immediately that I wanted my card to be yellow.  It's not a color that I use often, but it's so bright and happy... I am really loving it. I started off my card with a white card base.  I cut 1/2" strips of yellow cardstock, and used my grid mat to perfectly align them on the card base.  I diecut the new Insta-frame Confetti Cuts die out of dark gray cardstock, and cut a piece of white cardstock to fit inside.  I colored that piece with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and splatter it with a little bit of clean water for some extra dimension, then I placed that piece inside the Insta-frame die cut. I stamped the little koala pair in the tree on white cardstock, and then paper pieced the tree bark with one of the new School Days Quick Card Panels.  The orange checked pattern was fun, but a little too bright for what I was wanting, so I added a later of Vintage Photo Distress Ink over top of it to darken it a bit.  I colored the leaves and bears with my copic markers.  To finish off my little scene, I stamped a few of the small clouds and the sun from the Weather It Together stamp set, and diecut them with the coordinating Weather It Together Confetti Cuts.  I popped everything up with foam tape in the frame, and then popped the frame up on the striped card base with more foam tape.  I diecut the banner from the Flowers for Mom Confetti Cuts die set out of white cardstock, and stamped a sentiment from Bear Hugs on it, and then added that across the bottom of the scene with, you guessed it, MORE foam tape. *wink*

Welcome Little One

I really love how adding cardstock stripes to a card base can give you some extra dimension too,  You can see here how the stripes almost look 3D.  And paper piecing the tree adds a little more fun than just a copic colored tree.
