Moments Inked - Bullet Journaling

Hello there!  Today I have a fun post for you using the Moments Inked Planner by Papertrey Ink!  Recently, Papertrey Ink released graph paper that fits perfectly in the binder version of the planner.  I was thrilled to see this, and I have implemented a bullet journaling system in my PTI planner using all of Moments Inked goodies!  I can't wait to share!

PTI Moments Inked - Bullet Journal

Before I started my pages, I looked through all of the Moments Inked stamp sets and found images to use on my bullet  journal pages.  To make stamping your pages easier and less time consuming, I found it best to put all of your stamps one one block.  I put several stamps on my 1" block, using both sides of the block.  Here are the stamps I used:

- Small rounded square: Moments Inked: Posted II stamp set
- Tiny Star & Tiny Arrow: Moments Inked: Planner Banners stamp set

PTI Moments Inked - Bullet Journal

My next step was to create a color key for the different areas of my life that I wanted to include in my bullet journal.  I pulled out all of my ink cubes that coordinated with my favorite Paper Mate pens and decided what colors would be used for which category.

I used  the smallest die in the Moments Inked: Binder Page dies to cut pieces for my color key.  I cut it once from grid paper and once from Tropical Teal cardstock.  I trimmed the edges of the grid piece slightly to allow for a cardstock border.  Adding the cardstock makes things a little more sturdy.

Tasks that have been completed will be colored in with corresponding colored pens.  Tasks that are priority have a tiny star stamped next to the box.  Tasks that were migrated  from the previous day show an arrow on the left side of the box, and tasks that were not completed on a particular day show an arrow on the right side of the box, show that they need to be moved to the next day.

PTI Moments Inked - Bullet Journal

Here is my page at the start of my day, before any tasks have been completed.

I started off by stamping my date using the Fresh Alphabet stamp set.  It is quite easy to date several pages at a time, and it goes by very quickly.  You could date your pages for an entire month is just a few minutes!!  As you can see, I stamped the rounded square image in several colors, following my color key.  Priority tasks have been marked with a star, and one task was a carryover  from the precious day.  Underneath my tasks for the day, I also stamped squares to keep track of  my water intake.

PTI Moments Inked - Bullet Journal

As the day went on, I marked off completed tasks and began to move tasks that I knew I wouldn't be able to complete, to the following day.

PTI Moments Inked - Bullet Journal

Here you can see what two days of my to-do list looks like.  I am really loving this set up for tackling my daily tasks.  I keep my little block loaded with the stamps I need to use, plus the ink cubes, in a tray on the corner of my desk.  In just a few minutes, I have have my day outlined, tasks prioritized, and get in a little bit of stamping, all before breakfast, or last thing at night before I go to sleep.  I love that bullet journaling gives you a quick, color coded list of your most important daily tasks!

I hope you have found this post helpful and feel inspired to give bullet journaling a try!  If you do, please share photos with us!  We love seeing how you are using your Moments Inked Planner!  You can use the hashtag #momentsinked on Instagram to share!

Hello there! It's time for another Sparkle and Shine Challenge!!  The inspiration photo for this challenge is fun, colorful and graphic! I can't wait to see how you are inspired!

We are sponsored this week  by the Right at Home Shop!

For my card today, I pulled out one of my most favorite stamp sets in my entire collection, Papertrey Ink's Doodlie Do stamp set.  I also used a set that had not seen ink yet, Background Basics: Diagonals and Diagonals Additions,  I started off my stamping the BB: Diagonals strip  on the  bottom of my card panel with a super pale grey ink, then I used the BB: Diagonals Additions to add in some colored block and the little "hello" sentiment.  I added a hand doodles zigzag on the top edge of the stripes.  Then I stamped, colored, and fussy cut one of the flowers and a few leaves from Doodlie Do.  Before adhering the flower, I added some paint splatters with black watercolor paint, and stamped a black loopy line, which is a flight trail from the Happy Trails stamp set.  I adhered the leaves flat, popped the flower up with foam tape, and added some black sequins before popping the panel up on a black card base.

Lawnscaping Challenge #24 - Celebrate!

Hello there!  It's time for another Lawnscaping Challenge!  Challenge #124 is all about celebrating!

We are sponsored this week by the super fabulous Lawn Fawn!

I can never have too many birthday cards on hand, so I chose to make another one to add to my stash.  I love mixing and matching stamp sets, and I did it again with this card!  I started off by creating a purple ombre background using distress inks.  I added some water splashes  and them mopped them up with a paper towel to get a fun splattered background. After it was all dry, I ran it through my diecut machine to add a stitched edge using the largest die in the Small Stitched Rectangles Stackables die set. I diecut some vellum using the Puffy Cloud borders, and then added a strip of Let's Polka in the Dark 6x6 paper pad to the bottom of the panel.  I just love the dragon in the  Critters Ever After stamp set and I knew I wanted to use him on my card.  I colored him and dicut him with the coordinating Critters Ever After dies.  Then I pulled out my Party Animal stamp set to stamp, color and diecut some balloons, the tiny cake, and a party hat for my dragon.  I popped everything up with foam tape, and added some accents with a white gel pen.  I stamped a sentiment from the Party Animal stamp set, and some stars from the Critters Ever After set to fill up the sky. To finish things off, I added a scattering of sequins.

New Moments Inked! {Papertrey Ink}

Hello there!  Today I have a fun post for you!  We are in the middle of the Papertrey Ink 9th Anniversary celebration, and today the Moments Inked team gets to show off the newest additions to the Moments Inked product line!  I have two different ideas to share with you today.  Get your favorite cuppa something and I hope you enjoy!

First, I want to share my favorite thing from the MI release... I have been wishing for a planner icon stamp set for a long while, and Moments Inked: Everyday Icons is finally here!  The set is full of adorable little images and several words that you can use alone in your planner or in combination with the icon images.

Instead of using them in the calendar pages of my planner, I chose to dress up the new Moments Inked: Perpetual Daily Pages.  If you loved the daily pages from the 2015 planner, but didn't love the extra bulk they added to your planner, now you can have the best of both worlds.  They are available in both spiral and binder format.  The pages are the same dimensions at the Moments Inked  planner, so if you choose the spiral version, all of the spiral planner covers will fit perfectly.  Alternatively, if you choose the binder version, you can easily incorporate them into your binder system however you may choose.  I think it would be a great idea to have them in a binder separate from your planner, that you can use as a scrapbook when you are done with the year.  The binders would look lovely lined up on a book shelf year after year, don't you think?

The perpetual pages are printed in black and white, so that they coordinate with any of the monthly color schemes in the planner.  You now have the ability add the date yourself with all of the months and days listed along the top of the page.  I used the smallest outline circle in the Polka Dot Basics stamp set to circle my date.  I used the new Moments Inked: Everyday Icons stamp set to add fun little icons next to my most important tasks for the day.  There is another new stamp set, Moments Inked: Posted II (which works with the 3x6 white post-it notes that were introduced in December).  It includes several larger titles for your lists.  I used the "Don't Forget" stamp in the set for the title box at the box of the page.

PTI Moments Inked Daily Pages

The new pages still include many of the great things that were included last year, like the top 3 tasks for the day, the activity and water trackers, memorable moments box, and a place for you to say what you are thankful for, and a meal tracker.  Another new feature that I love is a perforated corner on each page.  It's a bit  hard to see in my photos, but tearing off the corner of each page as you finish with it will allow you to easily flip to current-day.

Since the pages are black and white, I wanted to add a bit of color.  I chose to use colored pencils so there was no bleed through to the next page.  In case you don't already own colored pencils, I wanted you to see that you don't need to make a huge investment if you'd like to use colored pencils in your planner. I bought a set of Crayola Twistables colored pencils for less than $5. I love using these, because as you color, the beautiful linen texture of the pages really stands out!

PTI Moments Inked Daily Pages

One of my goals this year is to keep better track of important dates and the cards that I need to make and send each month.  I started out by diecutting the new Moments Inked: Binder Listed die out of cardstock that coordinates with each monthly tab in my planner.  I used the Moments Inked: Listed Stamp set and matching ink to add a "Party Time" title box and lines to each diecut.  I plan to write birthdays, anniversaries, and other occasions where I might need to send a card on my list, and put a list at the beginning of each month.  Don't they look so pretty  all lined up?!  And can we talk about the fact that diecutting binder pages leaves you with a pile of bright, beautiful confetti!  I will be saving all of my hole punches... you never know when you might need confetti! :)

PTI Moments Inked Planner

Also available this month are lined pages and grid pages, each sold separately.  I would really like to  get in the habit of sketching out card ideas so that when it comes time to make them, I am ready to go.  I used a black pen and a ruler to draw rectangles on my grid paper.  One sheet gives me room to sketch out four card designs!  I have added a grid sheet to each month, just behind my list for that month.

PTI Moments Inked Planner

Rainbow lists... grid paper for sketching... free confetti out of the deal... *happy sigh!*

PTI Moments Inked Planner

And as you can see, adding a list to each month is not only functional by PRETTY!  I just love seeing a rainbow of tabs in my planner. It makes me excited to use my planner and even more excited to stay organized!

Color My World {WPlus9}

Hey there!  I have a fun card to share with you today!  As soon as I saw the first peeks of the new Color My World stamp from WPlus9, I knew I had to have it.  I have a serious addiction to art supplies and watercolor and seeing these illustrated paint tubes make me giddy!

I started off my card by running a piece of watercolor paper through my diecut machine with the Avery Elle Wonky Stitches dies to add a fun stitched edge.  Then I stamped an image from the WPlus9 Ink Splats stamp set (this stamp set is a perfect compliment to Color My World!) in a row about a third of the way down the panel using a rainbow of Distress Inks.  After I stamped the splats, I used a paint brush with clean clear water to move the ink around a bit.  I stood the paper on end to allow the water to run to the bottom of the panel and then let everything air dry.  I stamped, colored and fussy cut a bunch of paint tubes from the Color My World stamp set, and adhered the to the card panel on top of their matching ink splats.  Some are adhered flat with a glue pen, and others are popped up using foam tape.  Then I stamped a sentiment from the same set, centered near the bottom of the panel.  I colored in the word "YOU with black ink and "COLOR" with copic markers.  The "YOU" stood out a little too much for my liking, so I added a thicker black outline/shadow to the world "COLOR" to balance things out a little better.  When I was finish, I popped the panel up on a pale grey card base.

I can't wait to play with this set a little more! LOADS of possibilities with this one. Dawn sure knows the way to my heart! :)

For my card, I used the adorable I Moose You stamp set.  I wanted to to appear as though the box had exploded with love and sequins.  I started off by watercoloring my backgound, then I ran it through my diecut machine to give it a scalloped edge.  I stamped, colored and fussy cut the cute little moose, and stuck him inside a box diecut.  Then I stamped confetti using the little dot stamps and some hearts from the same set.  I added a scattering of  Hearts and Kisses sequin mix and a sentiment from the same stamp set.  Then I added a strip of patterned paper to the bottom of the panel and tied a bow with some hot pink twine before adding the panel to a pink card base.

Sparkle and Shine Challenge #23

Hello there!  Welcome to another Sparkle and Shine Challenge!!

Before I get into all of the new challenge details, I wanted to share some sad news with you.  Last week, the founder of Sparkle and Shine, Angel Johns, lost her husband, Chris, after a very short illness.  Chris not only leaves behind Angel, but their two young sons as well.  As you might imagine, they are facing some pretty heavy burdens financial and otherwise.  A Go Fund Me account has been set up to help the Johns family.  Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they adjust to the changes they have been faced with.  I know Angel appreciates each and every one of you.

Ok, now onto the challenge details!  Here is our inspiration photo for Challenge #23:

For my card, I wanted to play with my Paper Smooches Boom Bots stamp set.  I got it awhile back, and have been itching to color these adorable little guys!  To make my card, I started off by creating an inked backgound using Spun Sugar and Barn Door distress inks.  I added water droplets and then dabbed them off with a paper towel.  I was inspired by the polka dot background in the photo above.  I stamped, colored and diecut the robots and their little friend, and although it's  hard to see in the photo, I used the Shadows stamp set to add little shadows under them before popping them up with foam tape.  I add my sparkle, I used my Sakura Stardust pen on areas of the robots and the word bubble.  I apologize that it's so hard to see, but I promise it's there!  I stamped a sentiment from the same set, and some gears, also from the same set, on a diagonal to help the eye move from one side of the card to the other.

Lawnscaping Challenge #123 - Sending Love

Hello there!  It's time for another Lawnscaping Challenge!  Challenge #123 is all about sending love!

We are sponsored this week by our friends at Ellen Hutson!

For my card today, I decided to pull out a few sets that I have not used in awhile.  I started off by using Picked Raspberry distress ink to sponge an ombre background on a piece of white cardstock.  After I applied the ink, I added some water droplets and dabbed them up with a paper towel after a few seconds.  I just love the effect that it gives!  I added a piece of patterned paper from the Let's Polka in the Dark paper pad to the bottom of the panel, and then ran the piece through my diecut machine with the Large Stitched Rectangles Stackables to add a stitched edge.  Then I stamped and colored images from the Baked with Love stamp set and diecut them with the coordinating Baked With Love dies.  I also stamped and fussy cut the cake from the Year Three stamp set to put on top of my cake plate.  I added accents with a white gel pen and adhered some pieces with a glue pen and others with foam tape.   I stamped a sentiment from the Baked With Love stamp set, and stamped a few hearts to finish my scene.
