PTI January Blog Hop and MIM #198

Hi there!  Today I have a last minute entry for the Papertrey Ink January Blog Hop and the Make-it-Monday Challenge #198.

The Blog Hop challenge this month is hearts!

I love making Valentine's Day cards, and this particular one is for my almost two year old niece.

Be My Valentine

It was fun digging through my stash for all of my heart themed products!  I used some Simple Valentine patterned paper for this 3 panel card.  I think I will be making lots more of these cards!  So fun!!  I added a diecut hearts border along the top flap of the card and then diecut some Limitless Layers Hearts for the focal point of my card.  The cute little cat is from Cat's Meow... sooner or later I'll be able to stamp that cat on her diecut perfectly.  LOL! The sentiment is from Tremendous Treats Valentine, and the cute little clothespin is from the Dollar Spot at Target.

That's all for now!  Thanks for stopping by!!

  2. The pink kitty is so cute. My daughter would love to receive a Valentine like this! The red heart on the cat and clothes pin help bring all the elements of your card together.

  11. Love the card! Can I get a little more info so I can make one? Color of the red paper? Color of the twine? Color of the ink for the little hearts? And how did you color the cat so cute? I appreciate your help! Thanks.

  12. @Pam - I tried to find an email to contact you to answer your questions. I hope you see this comment - I used Papertrey Ink Pure Poppy Ink and card stock on this card and the twine was a limited edition Doodlebug color I think. I've had it for a long while now. Lawn Fawn Sweetheart twine is similar though. Hope that helps! :)

  13. Thank you so much, any tips on the cat itself? Color of the cardstock? It looks possibly shaded?

  14. @Pam - I'm sorry, I forgot you asked about the cat. :) I stamped him on white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored him with Copic Markers. I colored the entire image is RV10 first, then used RV14 around the edges, used RV13 to blend RV10 and RV14 together, and finally, another all over wash of RV10 to blend further. There is a bit of R20 in his ears too. Hope that helps! :)
