For my little ensemble today, I pulled out one of my favorites, Mermaid Wishes! I just love this adorable little mermaid. I created a card and coordinating tag. You can read more about how I created them below...
I started off by watercoloring a background using distress inks in Spun Sugar, Shaded Lilac, Tumbled Glass and Cracked Pistachio, then added a spattering of metallic gold watercolor. When it was dry, I cut it down to 4" x 5.25" and added a strip of patterned paper from the Pattern Play paper pad to the left side of the panel. I stamped and colored images from Mermaid Wishes using pastel shades of Copic markers to coordinate with the background. I arranged everything where I wanted it, adhered it with foam tape for some dimension. I stamped a sentiment from the same set on to a banner diecut from the Tag Me Confetti Cuts die set. To finish things off, I added some white gel pen accents, a scattering of sequins and some bubbles with Nuvo Drops in Morning Dew (I LOVE this stuff!), then mounted the panel on a Piggy Bank card base.
For the coordinating tag, I used the Topped Off Tag Confetti Cuts die set to diecut a tag from the same patterned paper that I used on the card (from the Pattern Play paper pad). Then I used the Scallop Tag Layer Confetti Cuts die to cut a layer from Piggy Bank cardstock. I glued that on top of the patterned tag with a glue pen, leaving some of the "scales" inside the diecut. I stamped and colored the same images in a similar fashion so that it would match the card, and added the same gel pen accents, sequins and bubbles. To finish things off I added a piece of light pink satin ribbon from my stash and tied a bow with some Blossom twine.
Be sure to hop along to each of the design team members blogs and comment for your chance to win a $15 Reverse Confetti gift certificate! Here is the full hop order:
