Reverse Confetti June Blog Hop

Hello there!!  It's the 8th of the month, and that means that it is time for the Reverse Confetti Creative Hop!  This month, I did some watercoloring with Distress inks and pulled out one of my RC faves, Moon Men!

To create my card, I started off by watercoloring a background for my sky.  I used Chipped Sapphire, Blueprint Sketch and Salty Ocean Distress inks.  Then that was dry, I splattered on some silver watercolor using the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors watercolors.  I stamped and colored the space ship, fire trail and a planet from Moon Men with Copic markers, and then diecut them with the coordinating Moon Men Confetti Cuts dies.  I popped them up with foam tape where I wanted them on the background.  Then, using the Seeing Stars Confettti Cuts dies, I diecut a trio of stars from white cardstock and adhered them with a glue pen.

I stamped a sentiment from the set onto white cardstock and trimmed it down with my paper trimmer, and popped that up with foam tape as well.  To finish things off, I added some white gel pen accents and some dark blue crystals from my stash.

That's all for me today, but be sure to hop along to see what else the Confetti Crew has to share with you today!!  Thanks so much for stopping by! :)

Spellbinders x Jane Davenport Artomology Collection

Hello there!  The Spellbinders team kindly asked if I would like to create with their new Jane Davenport products, and of course, I said yes!  You can see the full line of products here.  My card today uses the Jane Davenport Chilled Pastel Palette from the Making Faces line, and the Floating Feathers clear stamp set from the Artomology line.

To create my card, I started off by arranging three of the feathers from the stamp set onto a piece of white cardstock and stamped them with Versafine Onyx Black ink.  After I heat set the ink, I used my finger to layer the pastel over top, building up the color intensity with a few layers until I was happy with the result.  I love how the pastel picks up the texture of the paper.  Then, I used my Prismacolor colored pencils to color in each feather, in shades that matched the pastel background underneath.

After I was done with the pencil coloring, I splattered on some black watercolor for  an artsy feel.  Then,  I heat embossed a sentiment in white embossing powder on black cardstock, trimmed that with my scissors and popped it up with foam tape.  After adding a scattering of clear sequins, I popped then panel up with foam tape  onto an A2 card base.

I really enjoyed working with these products today!  I am not much of a mixed media girl usually, but these pastels may have changed that for me!  Be sure to check out the Jane Davenport line... it is full of fun products!

Thanks for stopping by! :)
