Little Bitty Bugs {Lawn Fawn} !

Hi there!  Taking a break from Christmas prep to share a *little* project with you using Lawn Fawn's new Bugs and Kisses stamp set and dies!  It's pretty impossible for me to not want everything that Lawn Fawn comes out with, so when they new Valentine's mini release was available, of course, I had to fill up my cart! :)

I happen to think that everything is cuter in mini size.  These itty bitty bugs and their little bug jar are beyond adorable.  Sometimes I need just a tiny note to slip in my sons' lunch boxes, or in the pocket of a pair of my husband's jeans when he's not looking...  These are perfect for that.  Sometimes, my boys don't need a long winded written speech for them to be reminded how much I love them...  That's were these bitty notes come in.

Bug Jar Mini Cards

I stamped and diecut a set of 5 jars, and a bunch of little bugs too.  Then I diecut another 5 jars  to use for the card back.  I put a little score line along the upper part of the card back so that they will open easily, and attached the front to the back with scor-tape.  I popped the little bugs up with foam squares because no matter how tiny the project, I need to use foam tape.  Yep.

On the inside of a few, I selectively inked one of the sentiments from the Bugs and Kisses stamp set and stamped it inside.  The rest I left blank for my own little notes.

Bug Jar Mini Cards

I wanted little envelopes for these, and I pulled out my Papertrey Ink Tiny Envelope die, which fits these perfectly. I used coordinating papers from the Let's Polka 6x6 paper pad, and stamped an envelope wrap using the Winter Gifts stamp set and dies, and Milo's ABCs.

Bug Jar Mini Cards

I think I love them :)

That's all for now... thanks for stopping by! :)

Lawnscaping Challenge #96 - Merry Christmas!

Hello there! Happy Monday!  Welcome to the last Lawnscaping Challenge of the year!  Today's challenge is Christmas themed.  Can you believe that we are only 10 days away from Christmas?  How in the world did that happen?!

Challenge #96 is sponsored by the super fabulous folks at Lawn Fawn!

For my project today, I pulled out a set that I have not used in awhile, Critters in the Snow.  I just love adding giant eyeballs to Lawn Fawn critters :)

I made a gift tag using the Tag You're It dies.  I used some Snow Day patterned paper for the hole reinforcer, then I die cut a hill using the Stitched Hillside borders.  The little tree line and the snowflakes are from the Snow Day stamp set.  I finished things off with some Mistletoe Lawn Trimmings.

Penguin Tag

That's all from me today... Be sure to check out the Lawnscaping blog for lots more Christmas inspiration from the rest of the team!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Swan Song Blog Hop

Today, I am proud to be part of a blog hop that is an outpouring of love to our friends at Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking Magazine.  It was recently announced that PC & S will be closing their doors after the February 2015 issue, and I am so sad.  I have had the honor of being published in the the pages of three different PC & S issues over the years, and the thrill of getting an email of Ms. Susan Opel never got old.  I loved the excitement of the facebook acceptance parties as the lucky chosen excitedly announced that there was an email from Susan in their inbox!  I impatiently waited for the mailman to deliver my paper copy in the mail, and would rush to the store to grab a special addition issue as soon as it was available.  I have enjoyed the Moxie Fab World (and I am so excited to be featured there today!  You can see the post here), all of the fun info shared by the Go-To Girls and all of the PC & S challenges and contests.  This community has brought so much to my crafty life.  By far, though, the thing I cherish most are the people that this magazine has brought into my life.  Real people, that share the same hobby.  Real friends.  I am so thankful.

Today, there are over 200 people participating in this hop!  That is just a fraction of the amount of people who have become part of the PC & S family!  You should have come from the blog of Connie Mercer.  If you've gotten lost or want to start at the beginning, you can do so at Jennifer Maguire's blog.

For my card today, I used one of my favorite Paper Smooches stamp sets, I Heart Art.  I really DO heart art!  And I had to be sure to include some (glossy) puffy hearts for Susan Opel! ;)

Thanks from the bottom of my heart

I used Distress Inks and Tim Holtz watercolor paper to create a fun, abstract background and then diecut some tiny hearts for some extra detail.  They are so sparkly and glossy in person. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Next stop on the hop is Paulina Nakamura!

If you like, here is a full list of participants... I am #98. Happy Hopping!

25 Days of Christmas Tags!

Hello there!  Happy Turkey Day to my American friends! :)  Today, I am thrilled to be joining in the fun with the 25 Days of Christmas Tags!  Tracy was kind enough to ask the Lawnscaping girls to participate, and I was so excited to pull out my new Snow Day stamp set to make a tag! I used the Stitched Journaling Card as the base for my tag, and the tree is from the Critters in the Forest stamp set.  I wanted the bright pops of color to be the stand out on this tag, so I chose to paper piece the tree from very light gray patterned paper.  To attach the tag to the little gift bag, I used a tiny clothespin, dressed up with some washi tape to coordinate :)

Merry and Bright Tag

Papertrey Ink November Blog Hop

Oh my goodness, I am losing all track of time here!  I completely forgot that today is the 25th and din't have my PTI Blog Hop post scheduled!  Oops.

The theme for today's hop is SNOW!  I absolutely love snow, though I don't see any now that I live in Florida.  It's one of the things I miss most about my home in Pennsylvania.

For my card today, I used one of my favorite holiday sets, Tremendous Treats Christmas.  I made a shaker card (my first ever) using the Fabulous Frames dies, and some fun faux snow that I got at the Dollar Tree.  A pretty good size bag is only $1, and I grabbed it a soon as I saw it, with a shaker card in mind.  I added a few diecut snowflakes from the Winter Penguin die set, and the striped card base was created using Watercolor Wonder.

Lawnscaping Challenge #94 - Numbers!

Hello there!  It's time for another Lawnscaping Challenge!!  This week, our challenge is to include numbers somehow in your project!  It can be any theme, as long as you use number stamps or dies somewhere!!

We are sponsored this week by the super fabulous Lawn Fawn!

For my project today, I used the Tag You It dies and the Winter Gifts stamp set to create a tag for my sister's 23rd birthday gift.  I started out by stamping the tag outline on white card stock and then masked off the edges and stamped "23" repeatedly using Milo's ABCs to create a patterned paper.  Before removing the masked edges, I used distress inks to create an ombre effect on the tag to coordinate with the gift wrap.  I then stamped, colored and cut out the cute little hippo, bird, and balloon from Year Four and stamped a sentiment on a banner diecut.  Everything was popped up using foam tape and tied to the package with Orchid Lawn Trimmings!  Love that color!!

Lawn Fawn Holiday Week - Day 3

Hello there and welcome back to Day 3 of the Lawn Fawn Holiday Week!  I hope you have been enjoying all of the adorable projects that are being shared on the Lawn Fawn blog!

Today, I have a card to share using the Sweet Christmas stamp set.  This little gingerbread house is so much fun to play with!  With all of the little detail stamps, you can create gingerbread houses with lots or little decoration. For my card, I just added a few windows to my  house, and popped the windows and roof up on foam tape for a little added dimension.   I used the Snow Day 6x6 paper pad for my mix of patterned papers.

Lawn Fawn Holiday Week - Day 1

Hello there!! Happy Monday! Today is the first day of Lawn Fawn's Holiday Week and I am thrilled to be participating!

For my card today, I pulled out some of my favorite Lawn Fawn products, including the first stamp set that I purchased from Lawn Fawn, Making Frosty Friends.  Even still, it is one of my most used stamp sets during the holiday season.

Let It Snow

I love white on white for winter themed cards.  I diecut the largest stitched rectangle and a stitched hillside from white cardstock.  I used Tumbled Glass distress ink to lightly ink the edges of the panel, and then used the same ink to stamp the snowflakes on the background.  I stamped the smaller snowman from Making Frosty Friends in grey ink and then used light blue copic markers to lightly shade him.  I used Louie's ABCs dies to diecut the sentiment, and then adhere the letters and the hillside the card front.  The snowman is popped up with foam tape, and I finished things off with some Silver Sparkle lawn trimmings.

There's tons more inspiration today and all week long on the Lawn Fawn blog!  Be sure to stop back here on Wednesday... I have another card to share with you!! :)

Papertrey Ink October Blog Hop!

Good morning!  It's time for another Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!  The challenge this month was to choose an unusual Christmas color combination and get started on holiday crafting!  I'm sure it's no surprise that I chose this color combination:

I'm all about the bright, fun colors and I was immediately drawn to this combo.  Hot Pink on a Christmas card?!  Yes, please! :)

I pulled out my Holiday Lights stamp set and challenged myself to make a clean and simple card using that stamp set, and the above color recipe.  Here is what I came up with:

PTI October Hop 1

For a little something extra, I added glossy accents to the light bulbs.

Glossy

The more I played with this color combination, the more I loved it!  I was inspired by the stripes in the inspiration photo, so I pulled out my Watercolor Wonder stamp set and Tag Sale #10 die.  I played around with several images for the tags, but all were too busy to go with the bold striped background I'd created,.. I ended up with an old favorite, Lawn Fawn's Making Frosty Friends.  I think the size of the snowman is perfect for these tags, and the scarf and heart help to tie in the color scheme.  I am so pleased with how these turned out and I can't wait to tie them onto holiday packages!
