Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

Hello there!  Today I am so excited to be participating in a COFFEE themed blog hop!  My goodness, I love all things coffee... my Keurig, flavored creamer, hot coffee, iced coffee, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, coffee icecream... and even coffee themed stamps!  Imagine my excitement when an invite to this blog hop popped up on my facebook feed!

If you want to start at the beginning of the hop, click here.

And along for the ride are a long list of amazing sponsors!

I'm sure you've guessed by now that all of the projects on today's hop will be coffee themed, and I am just so excited to hop along and check out all of the java inspired goodness!

If you've been a blog follower of mine for any bit of time now, it's no secret that I LOVE Lawn Fawn stamps (they happen to be a sponsor today!).  They are my most favorite.  I had been wishing for a hot beverage themed set from them for awhile, and I was delighted to see the new Love You a Latte set in their winter release (which is ALL AMAZING, btw!)  For  my project today, I decided to decorate a Starbucks To-Go cup and make a coordinating gift card holder.  Starbucks sells these plastic travel mugs for $1 each.  Only a buck!  I used the smaller banner from the Stitched Party Banners, and cut it from a fun brown plaid paper from new Sweater Weather 6x6 paper pad.  I discovered that the circle die that comes in banner die set cuts a circle just slightly bigger than the Starbucks emblem on the cup!  How fun!  So I made a window banner, tied it around the cup with some Hot Cocoa Lawn Trimmings, and added a little stamped to-go cup and some coffee beans to the front.  I love his smile. :)

Coffee ensemble

I had an idea when I saw the new Goodie Bag die, to create a gift card sleeve, rather than a little gift bag.  I simply cut two pieces of card stock with the die, and then cut off the parts of the diecut that would usually form the front and  back of the die.  I adhered those two pieces together with some Scor-tape. along the sides and bottom. I only put adhesive about 3/4 of the way up the sides though, so that I could easily slip a gift card and some paper shred inside.  You could also use tissue paper in place of the paper shred if you prefer.

Coffee gift card holder

I am thinking these would make cute Christmas gifts!

I'm off to hop, but thanks so much for stopping by today! :)

Papertrey Ink September Blog Hop

Hey there!  It's time for another Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!  This month, the inspiration was this warm and cozy winter-esque photo... I am longing for cooler temperatures here in Florida where it is still 90 degrees!

I pulled a few colors from the photo to use as my inspiration, along with a knit patterned stamp and some silver metal accents because of the metal bucket in the photo.  I used Doodlie Do (this is STILL a favorite... I LOVE it as much today as the day that I got it!), Knit Bits and for my sentiment, Tag Its #3.

Monster Hugs {Lawn Fawn}

Hello there!  I had some time this past weekend to do some crafting, and I couldn't resist coloring some of the monsters from the new Lawn Fawn Monster Mash stamp set!  I think these little guys are some of my favorites from the new release, and I love that they can be used for so much more than halloween.  Today though, I have a halloween-ish card to share.

Here is a bit of a closeup while I was coloring my monsters... little details like dots and white gel pen accents make them look so alive! :)

monster coloring

In case anyone is interested, here are the colors I used:
Green monster: YG01, YG03, YG05, YR12, YR15, YR18
Purple monster: BV02, BV08, BV13, W03
Orange monster: YR12, YR15, YR18, E09
Yellow monster: YR32, YR35, YR38
Blue monster: B00, B02, B24, B28

And here is my card...

Monster Hugs

I used a dark grey, almost black cardstock for the card base and fishtailed banner.  The orange patterned paper is from the Lawn Fawn Into the Woods 6x6 paper pad, and the tiny stars were diecut from the shapes that come with the Journaling Card die.

That's all for now... thanks for stopping by! :)

My Heart is Full {Mama Elephant}

Hello there!  Today I have a card to share that I created with the Mama Elephant and ME Challenge in mind!  This month's challenge is Paper Piecing + Thank You.

My heart is full

I wanted to create sort of a shadow box effect, so I cut an A2 card base, then I cut a piece of white cardstock to measure 4" x 5.25".  I positioned this die where I wanted it and than ran it through my diecut machine.  I then cut a third piece of white card stock only slightly larger than the window opening.  I did all of my stamping and decorating on that panel and then popped the window panel over it using foam tape.

To create my little scene, I first sponged Tumbled Glass Distress Ink on the top 2/3 of the panel to create a clouded sky.  Then, using the Landscape Trio die set, I cut some hills from patterned paper.  I used the clouds from the Landscape Trio dies to create a vellum cloud.  After adhering the hills and clouds to my panel, I stamped, colored, paper pieced and diecut my little girl from the In My Heart stamp set and set her down on the panel where I wanted her,without glueing.  I added some grass detail with copic markers and stamped some flowers and the butterfly, then popped the little girl up on some foam tape.  I stamped a sentiment from Many Thanks, then mounted the windowed panel over the scene with foam tape.  It didn't feel quite finished at that point, so I cut some tiny hearts using the Confetti die out of dark red cardstock.  I added some white gel pen accents, Wink of Stella glitter, and a coating of glossy accents to the hearts after I glued them down.

That's all for now... thanks for stopping by! :)

Supplies:
Stamps: In My Heart, Many Thanks

Ka-POW! {Mama Elephant}

Hi there! Today I have a card to share with you using the Simon Says Stamp/Mama Elephant collaboration stamp and die set for Stamptember!  As soon as I started seeing peeks of this ADORABLE set on Instagram, I knew I had to have it.  I stalked the website, and as soon as it was added I jumped on it!  This set is called Super Duo, and it is only available for the month of September or while supplies last.  It looks like the stamp and die combo set is out of stock, but you can still order the stamp set as a stand alone if you like!  I'm not sure if they will be restocking or not.

Superhero

For my card, I started by cutting the rectangle from the Femme Frames dies out of some patterned paper.  Then, using the My Sunshine stamp set, I stamped the sunburst using ink only slightly darker than the patterned paper.  I then cut some clouds out of white card stock and vellum using the Landscape trio die set.   I colored and diecut the little super girl, tiny clouds and the comic bubble from the Super Duo set and popped them up on some foam tape, then matted the entire panel on the scalloped frame from the Femme Frames dies. :)

I colored the diecut a bunch of these little super heroes, so I'm sure you'll be seeing more of them around here soon!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Paper: PTI White, Pure Poppy, Lawn Fawn Sweater Weather 6x6 pad, Vellum
