Papertrey Ink October Blog Hop!

Good morning!  It's time for another Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!  The challenge this month was to choose an unusual Christmas color combination and get started on holiday crafting!  I'm sure it's no surprise that I chose this color combination:

I'm all about the bright, fun colors and I was immediately drawn to this combo.  Hot Pink on a Christmas card?!  Yes, please! :)

I pulled out my Holiday Lights stamp set and challenged myself to make a clean and simple card using that stamp set, and the above color recipe.  Here is what I came up with:

PTI October Hop 1

For a little something extra, I added glossy accents to the light bulbs.

Glossy

The more I played with this color combination, the more I loved it!  I was inspired by the stripes in the inspiration photo, so I pulled out my Watercolor Wonder stamp set and Tag Sale #10 die.  I played around with several images for the tags, but all were too busy to go with the bold striped background I'd created,.. I ended up with an old favorite, Lawn Fawn's Making Frosty Friends.  I think the size of the snowman is perfect for these tags, and the scarf and heart help to tie in the color scheme.  I am so pleased with how these turned out and I can't wait to tie them onto holiday packages!

Lawnscaping Challenge #92

Hello there!  It's time for another Lawnscaping Challenge!  Challenge #92 is a color challenge and this time, we are thinking Halloween!  Use the color combo or make a halloween themed project, or BOTH!  This week we are sponsored by the super fabulous Lawn Fawn!

For my project today, I made  a set of tags using one of my new favorites, Monster Mash!
Our neighborhood does "BOO-ing" and I will put these tags on our packages for our neighbors.  I used the Tag, You're It dies and the Winter Gifts stamp set for the base of the tags, and the stitched circles are from the Stitched Party Banners die set.  I used the stars from the Lucky Stars stamp set.

Alpine Carolers {Mama Elephant}

Oh my goodness, am I ever excited about today's post!  My dear friend Elena, of Just Me Prints, is a stamp designer!  Her new stamp set, Alpine Carolers, is available NOW in the Mama Elephant store! As soon as Elena started sharing her adorable hand drawn doodles on her blog, I knew that it wouldn't be long before she'd be designing stamps and she knocked it out of the park right off the bat!

I am so excited to be sharing my first card using these adorable carolers!  How cute are they?!  Yep, it's love.

Alpine Carolers

I stared with the stitched frame from the Femme Frames die set and a diecut hillside from the Landscape trio.  I marked a pencil line where I wanted the hill to go, and used Tumbled Glass distress ink and a blending tool to add a tiny bit of color to the winter sky.  I stamped, colored and fussy cut the carolers and the tree from Cozy Christmas and adhered everything to the stitched panel.  The carolers and the panel are popped up on foam tape.  To finish the card, I decorated the tree with silver pearls and added some Wink of Stella pen to the angel topper.

I just love this stamp set, and I hope you do too!  Elena is giving away a set on her blog, HERE.  Hurry for your chance to win,  The giveaway ends October 17th, midnight EST.

That's all for now... thanks for stopping by! :)

Not-so-ugly Ugly Sweater Tags {Simon Says Stamp}

Hello there!  Recently, Simon Says Stamp released a collection called Cold Hands Warm Heart.  For the collection, Kristina Werner created an Ugly Sweater collection.  The collection consists of 2 stamp sets and coordinating dies.  As soon as I saw the peeks, I knew I had to have those sweaters!  They arrived yesterday, and I couldn't wait to ink them up.  Adding color just brings them to life!  This week, Simon Says Stamp is sponsoring a Flickr Challenge to create tags, or a card using a tag as the focal point.  I made a collection of gift tags trying to get a jump on my holiday crafting.  Now that I've had a chance to play with these sets, I can safely say that there will be lots of sweater stamping in my future!

Sweater Tags 2

I stamped, colored and diecut the sweaters assembly line style.  After I die cut the colored sweaters, I cut a second diecut from white card stock.  I scored the top of the white sweater diecuts and adhered them to the back of the colored diecuts to create a top folding tag.  The scoring allows for the tags to open easily.  Inside, I used the Mama Elephant No Peeking stamp set to stamp to and from on each.  Then I punch a hole and threaded some twine through to allow me to tie them on Christmas packages.

Sweather Tags 3

If you leave off the twine, these make super cute mini cards too!  I love how they can stand up on their own :)

Pinky Promise {Mama Elephant}

Hello there!  Today I have a card to share with you that I made with a few challenges in mind...  I started with a piece of Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor paper.  I  just love the texture of this paper!  I scribbled 5 colors of Distress Markers on an acrylic block and painted a watercolor background.  After I was done laying down the color, I added water droplets for more interest.  I then used the stitched frame die from Femme Frames die set to give the panel a stitched edge.  I stamped, colored and diecut the little girl from the In My Heart stamp set and the sentiment is from the True Friend stamp set.  The tiny hearts are from the Confetti stamp set.

Pinky Promise

 I will be linking to these challenges:

Lawnscaping Challenge # 91 - Patterned Paper

Hi there!  It's time again for another Lawnscaping Challenge!  Challenge #91 is all about patterned paper!  With their winter release, Lawn Fawn released some AWESOME new patterned paper pads, and this challenge was a great excuse to put them to good use! :)

This week, we are sponsored by the super fabulous Simon Says Stamp!

For my project today, I used the new Goodie Bag die along with papers from the Sweater Weather and Snow Days paper pads.  I also used the first Lawn Fawn stamp set that I ever purchased (and it's still one of my favorites!) Making Frosty Friends and the coordinating dies.  The tree is from the Critters in the Forest stamp set.

Snowman bag

I paper pieced the snowman's scarf and the tree, and added some silver pearls to the tree for decoration.  Isn't that falling snow paper in the background just the greatest?!

Be sure to visit the blog for all of the challenge details and lots more inspiration from the design team!  I hope you'll play along for your chance to win a fabulous prize!

Thanks for stopping by! :)
