Angel {Mama Elephant Photo Inspiration Challenge}

Hi there!  Today, I have another card to share with you for the Mama Elephant Photo Inspiration Challenge. I am really loving the photo this time around, and it is really inspiring me.

For my card, I used the Love From Above stamp set.  I wanted this card to be simple, as it is a sympathy card, and though there is no sentiment on the front, a heartfelt note was written on the inside before I sent it off.

I added some water to PTI Aqua Mist ink and splattered the background of the card front with a paint brush.  Then stamped the cloud image a few times on a square diecut.  I stamped the angel on the clouds, and then stamped her again and colored and cut her out.

By layering one on top of the other, I could add a little but of dimension by not gluing the wings and carefully bending them forward a bit.  It's hard to see in the photo, but I added Wink of Stella glitter pen to the wings and the clouds.

That's it for me today... thanks for stopping by! :)

Papertrey Ink April Blog Hop {Embroidered Inspiration}

Hi there!  I am super excited about participating in this month's PTI Blog Hop!  The theme this month is Embroidered Inspiration.  I went straight to Pinterest and there are SO many beautiful embroidered pieces to choose from. It was quite hard to narrow it down, but I ended up choosing this photo as the inspiration for my card today:

I am still pretty smitten with my Doodlie Do stamp set.  I got it a few months back when it was first released, and it has become one of my favorite and most used PTI sets to date.  LOVE!  The flowers in the inspiration photo are sort of shaped like the Doodlie Do flowers, and I just love the color combo too.  Here is my card:

Embroidered Inspiration

The sentiment is from Tremendous Treats: Valentine and the zigzag border image is from Sew Simple Borders.  I am loving the new Tropical Teal color too... this was the first time I used the ink and the color is just gorgeous!

I appreciate you stopping by today!  I can't wait to hop!

Water Splatter Backgrounds {Papertrey Ink}

As soon as I saw the new Papertrey Ink Make-It-Monday #161, I knew I wanted to participate.  I love the watercolor, abstract, artsy look lately.

This week, the challenge is to create a water splattered background using dye inks and water.

I used Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores and Tropical Teal inks to create an ombre effect and then with water and a paint brush added the splatters.  The largest dots were from placing the paint brush directly onto the paper and the smaller ones were from tapping the paint brush against my finger from further away.

I pulled out my Butterfly Dreams stamp set and coordinating die, and the Signature Series Butterfly die to create the focal point.  The sentiment is from the Beautiful Butterflies set.

Don't Worry {Mama Elephant Photo Inspiration}

Hello there!  I'm back with another card for the Mama Elephant Photo Inspiration Challenge!

My sister is having her wisdom teeth out this morning, and her nerves are getting the best of her.  She will be staying with me for a few days, and when she arrived last night, she found this on her pillow:

Don't Worry

The little Gemini Twins from the Cosmic Stars stamp set remind me of my sister and I.  We are only 13 months apart, so I don't remember life without her.  People always assumed we were twins growing up, and we are so close that we might as well be.

 The sentiment is from the True Friend stamp set, and is stamped on a Bold Banner die cut.  The heart is a die set from PTI, and everything is matted on a Femme Frame die cut.

If I may ask, please keep my sister Ashley in your thoughts today.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Stamps: Mama Elephant Cosmic Stars, True Friend
Dies: Mama Elephant Femme Frames, Bold Banner, PTI Limitless Layers Hearts
Paper: PTI White, Aqua Mist, Limeaid Ice Pattern Pack
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, PTI Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist, Tea Dye Duo
Other: Copic Markers, Wink of Stella Clear Pen

Mama Elephant Photo Inspiration Challenge

Mama Elephant has quickly become one of my favorite stamp companies, and I always enjoy their challenges!  I recently got a bunch of new ME stamps and dies and I am really loving this month's inspiration photo!

I always love making cards that a different from the normal A2 size.  Having a different size or shape canvas can really open up a bunch of new possibilities!  This card is 3.5" x 5.5".  I used one of my favorite ME sets, Up and Away, along with a sentiment from Many Thanks.  The cloud die cut is from their Landscape Trio, and I added a scattering of die cut Confetti.

Thank you

That's all for now!  Thanks for stopping by! :)

Lawnscaping Challenge #79 - Try a new technique!

Hello there!  Happy Monday!
It's time for another Lawnscaping Challenge, and Challenge #79 is to try a new technique!

This challenge is sponsored by none other than Simon Says Stamp!

For my card today, I wanted to try inlaid diecutting.  I had never tried this before, but it is so fun and easy (though a bit time consuming with lots of passes through your diecut machine).  I love that it creates a flat card, but one with lots of texture and interest.  I used the Puffy Stars Stackables dies, and the Lucky Stars stamp set as well as papers from the Let's Polka 6x6 paper pad (my favorite Lawn Fawn papers ever!)  I finished things off with a bit of the Lime twine.

Inlaid Die Cutting

That's it for me today... hope you have enjoyed my card.  Be sure to check out the Lawnscaping blog for more challenge details and lots of inspiration from the rest of the design team! :)
