Pinspired Challenge #16

Hey there!  It's time again for another Pinspired Challenge!  This week, the inspiration photo is bright and fun.  You could do so many things with this photo.  The floral theme, bright colors, "Thanks" sentiment... all bring tons of possibilities!

Challenge #16 is sponsored by Ellen Hutson.  They are giving away a $25 gift certificate to their store to one lucky winner! :)

For my card, I wanted to use the bright color scheme.  I used the Ink Splash stamps from Neat and Tangled, and one of my favorite Paper Smooches sets, I Heart Art.

Mama Elephant Photo Inspiration Challenge - Take 2 :)

I really love the inspiration photo for this month's Mama Elephant Photo Inspiration Challenge.  So much so, that I decided to make another card inspired by it.  I just got my Bootastic (LOVE!) stamp set in the mail, and wanted to play with it.  My card was inspired by this card that Nichole Heady made last week.  I used her sketch with a few little additions. :)

I just love that little ballerina!  I can't wait to play with the rest of the images in that set.  The sentiment is from Starry Night, and the tiny star background behind the ballerina is from Believe in Magic.

That's all for now... thanks for stopping by! :)

Papertrey Ink August Blog Hop

Hi there!!  It's time for another PTI Blog Hop!  This month, the challenge was to choose a color/sketch combo and create something based on it.  While I normally jump at the bright colors because they are my favorite, I wanted to use my new Scent-sational Stamp set (available September 15th, or by way of the Stamp-a-faire kits).  I just love the coffee cup image and sentiment.  I thought a more muted color scheme would work best.

Here is my card...  I stamped the coffee cup image twice and then cut out the cup and popped it up on foam squares.  The napkin is the pinked square from the Button Card die set, and the tiny red heart is from the Love Lives Here die set.  I used a scoring board to score lines in the card base rather than strips of paper as shown in the sketch.  I love the subtle texture.

I can't wait to hop around and see what everyone else created! :)  Thanks for stopping by!!

Tastefully Inspired {Clear and Simple Stamps}

Hey there! It's group post day with Clear and Simple Stamps!!

Our challenge was to create something inspired by food.  I don't know about you, but in the summer months, I love fresh watermelon... and with watermelon on the brain, I created this ensemble:

I used distress inks to mimic a watermelon design for my card, and on the favor.  I masked off each stripe, inked and then removed the masks.  It is sort of hard to see in the photo, but the white stripe is actually Simple Adhesive covered in glitter.  The little watermelon seeds are from the Flower Garden set.  I cut off one of the tiny raindrops from the raindrop pattern image to make it easier to place the seeds just where I wanted them.

For the favor, I used the Take Out Box die  (my new favorite die from CSS!) and simply inked and glittered  it while it was flat, when scored and assembled.  I created a little tag using the Tags 1 die, Trendy Tags Stamp set and the little watermelon from Perfect Harvest.

When I finished my card, I looked at it and felt it needed a little something, so I pulled out my Foodie Fun stamp set and added the cute little ant...  I love him!

Teddy Bear Picnic {Clear and Simple Stamps}

Hello there!  Happy Monday!!

Today I have a fun post to share with you.  I love giving books as gifts, and sometimes a simple gift can look fabulous with a special presentation.

When I saw the adorable little bear from Little Critter Pals, the book Teddy Bear Picnic came to mind.  I knew I wanted to create a tiny teddy bear picnic of my own.  This could totally be turned into a party!!  How cute would a little one's birthday be when celebrated picnic style?!

(click to enlarge)

I created a shaped card using the Build a Critter Pal Basic dies.  He was paper pieced with gingham paper.  It is amazing what a different look he has compared to others that I have created using solid color cardstock.

And to go with the book and shaped card, I make a little bookmark using the Little Critter Pals 2 stamp set and coordinating dies.

Featured today on the Lawn Fawn Blog!

Hey there!  Happy Tuesday!  For the next few weeks, Kelly Marie is featuring the Lawnscaping Team on the Lawn Fawn Blog.  Today is my day! :)

I have been loving my Distress inks lately and have been really inspired to use them in different ways.  For my card today, I used them in the most common way - to create an inked background.

I used Spiced Marmalade, Barn Door and Fired Brick to create an African sunset.  I stamped and colored the trees from Critters on the Savanna, in black to make them look like silhouettes in the background.  Then I stamped, colored and cut out the critters in the foreground.  (I love that Rhino!).  The sun was cut with a circle punch from Pink Lemonade papers, and the sentiment is also from Critters on the Savanna.

Hope you like! :)  Thanks for stopping by! :)

Lawnscaping Challenge #63 - One Layer

Good Morning!  It's time for another Lawnscaping Challenge!  Our challenge this time is to create a one layer card or project.

Challenge #63 is sponsored by the fabulous Simon Says Stamp!

I'm not going to lie... One layers cards are a bit hard for me.... but after some reworking, I came up with a card that I am happy with.  My card uses Critters in the Burbs and Critters at the Dog Park.  The images were colored using Copics and the background was colored with Distress ink and water.

I hope you'll stop on over to the Lawnscaping Blog and check out all of the challenge details and for more one layer inspiration!  Play along for your chance to win a great prize! :)

Have a great day! :)
