PDCC #125

This week at the Play Date Cafe, Challenge #125 is to use black, white and a splash of brown. Awhile back, I got the Clear and Simple Stamps Taglines: Critters set, and this was the first chance I had to ink it up. It is SO, SO adorable. The fun Chevron background is from Paper Smooches Geo-Graphic set (a favorite of mine!) I first cut the cardstock panel and then made a mask by punching a 1.75" circle from a post-it note. I placed that on the panel and stamped my chevron pattern over top. When I removed the mask, there is a spot for my owl :) So sorry that my picture isn't the best... it's rainy and dark so I had to take pics in a different place with artificial light and it didn't turn out so great...

It's a rainy Saturday here, so that means a lazy afternoon in my craft room! :)

Supplies:
Stamps: Clear and Simple Stamps Taglines: Critters, Paper Smooches Geo-Graphic
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI Stampers Select White, True Black
Other: Copic Markers, Popdots

Hey there! So, if you are follower of my blog, I am sure by now it's pretty easy to tell that I am a huge fan of fun, whimsical stamps! I made an order with The Alley Way Stamps as soon as I saw their release last month. I knew I had to have their new farm sets - EIEIO and Get MOOvin. My nephew will be celebrating his first birthday in May (OMG where did the time go!?!) and we got him the Fisher-Price Little People Farm. Of course, there needs to be a matching card, right? I knew right away which stamps I was using. I had SO much fun making this card for him!! In addition to The Alley Way stamps mentioned above, I also used Lawn Fawn's Critters on the Farm (for the fence) and PTI Love Lives Here (for the grass sprouts).

Check out The Alley Way blog... they are in the middle of new release peeks! Super cute stuff over there! That's all for now... tons to do before the kiddos are off for spring break next week... the clock is tickin'!! :)

Especially for Janelle

I wanted to share a card that I made especially for a very sweet stamping friend of mine, Janelle. If you do not know Janelle, you can read her story on her blog, Show and Tell. I "met" her on the PTI message boards and it wasn't long before I knew what a wonderful lady she is! :)

Janelle, my thoughts and prayers are with you each and every day. I am truly awed by your courage. Huge hugs and healing wishes my friend! <3

For Janelle's card, I used a fabulous set by Paper Smooches called Hope. You may notice the small grey ribbon intertwined with the sentiment. Grey is the color for Brain Cancer Awareness. I also used a new release from Paper Smooches, Pretty Momma, available April 1st.

And here is a closeup of that beautiful flower... Janelle, I would bring you bunches and bunches if I could!!

Please take a moment to hop along to all of the other blogs participating (you can find a full list of participants on Laurie's blog here ) and stop by Janelle's blog to leave her some love!! :)

CAS-ual Friday Challenge #45 - Happy Bird-day!

I have been having a blast with my Little Bitty Birds. I also finally inked up a new set from Paper Smooches called Whirligigs. So fun! For this card, I chose to take the CAS-ual Friday Challenge #45 - The Bold & The Beautiful. The callenge calls for using black and pastel colors together. I must admit, when I use black it is usually with primary or bright colors so this was fun for me. I love the softness of the pale pink and aqua with the boldness of the black.

Hope you all have a great weekend!! :)

Supplies:
Stamps: PTI Little Bitty Bird & Additions, PTI Tiny Treats Birthday, Paper Smooches Whirligigs
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, PTI Aqua Mist, Sweet Blush

Little Bitty Bird Love

I seriously don't think I have EVER been so excited about a stamp set. Ever. One of my very favorite PTI stamp sets, Little Bitty Bird, now has an additions set, Little Bitty Bird Additions. I knew I would love it, I just didn't think I would love it this much. Prepare to see alot of it around here. :)

For this card, I used the Babe Block stamp from Paper Smooches and inked that in Aqua mist ink. Then I stamped the fence and colored in the posts with a Q-tip and PTI's Tea Dye Duo inks. The birdbath is filled with glossy accents to look like water. I had a blast making this card. :)

PTI Make It Monday #58 - Graduated Backgrounds

This week's PTI Make it Monday - #58 showcases a technique that I have used before and I love the results. I chose to do a monochromatic background for this Easter card using Copic Markers in RV10, RV13 and RV14. These colors are among my most used Copics. I reach for them all the time. I used PTI's Scrambled Eggs and Little Bitty Bird stamp sets and the sentiment is from the Sweet Spring stamp set.

An Irish Owl - Colour Q #128

So while purusing the grocery store yesterday, I wandered about the floral department and came across adorable little potted Shamrock plants. I always look for little inexpensive ways to let my boys' teachers know that I appreciate them and all that they do for my children. I grabbed 2 up and when I got home, I decided they needed a little dressing up for St. Patrick's Day. I pulled out my new stamps from The Craft's Meow - Owl See You in Spring. ADORABLE! I diecut two PTI Tag Sale #5 tags for each floral pick and sandwiched a wooden BBQ skewer in between. Man, that Scor-tape doesn't mess around. I stuck then together, and they weren't even, but it was STUCK and I was afraid to ruin them (since it was after midnight and I was running out of time!) Oh well, proof that they were handmade, huh? :)

The boys took them to school day since we are going away for the weekend and they won't see their teachers before the holiday. They were so excited this morning. They love giving presents and much as I do :)

I am also entering this into this week's ColourQ Challenge - #128 - All about GREEN! :)

Pink and Orange Honeycomb!

Hello Friends!

Hope you all are having a wonderful Sunday! I got a boat load of new stamps from Paper Smooches last week, and have been having a blast with them. Their new background sets are so much fun! I am not gonna lie... I was a little cross-eyes after coloring in all of these hexagons, but I love how it turned out. Pretty simple, and yet, it really makes a statement. The hexagons are from a new set called Geo-Graphic, and the sentiment is from Word Salad.

Stamps: Paper Smooches Geo-Graphic, Word Salad
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI Stampers Select White, True Black
Other: PTI Double Ended Banner Die, Copic Markers, Paper Smooches Licorice Twine

Colour Q Challenge - #127 - sMOOches!

I love Colour Q challenges... This week, #127 is so pretty! I just got an order from The Alley Way stamps. This month, they released 10 new sets, and I knew as soon as I saw them that two of them had to come live with me. I got ei-ei-o and Get MOOvin. They are companion sets. For this card, I used the cow from Get MOOvin, the hay/grass from ei-ei-o and a sentiment from the Paper Smooches Chubby Chums Stamp set. His adorable little cow body is hiding behind the fence, but it's there! His head is popped up on popdots to make it look like he is peeking over the fence. The fence die is from Papertrey Ink.

Hope you all have a great day! Thanks for paying me a visit :)
